@@knotten55 Yeah, Illidan at that moment did what needed to be done. Having a man on the inside was one of the key parts in defeating the legion back then. But old Malf didn't want to see that. Illidan did a lot of shady stuff, but that is what a good undercover agent has to do, sadly. Had Malf taken Illidan back with some restrictions and not abandon him completely, Azeroth's story could be very different.

Together with his Friend Arthas his lover Arthas and many brave Arthas's he sets out to stop the Arthas. But when he arrives at Arthas he notices that all the Arthas's have already been infected with the Arthas. Arthas decides to purge the Arthas so that the Arthas stays inside Arthas. But Arthas and Arthas would not follow him. This was the Key moment in the life of Arthas because afterwards he sets out to Arthas to kill Arthas. On the way he finds Arthas which corrupts his Arthas leading to him going back to his Arthas killing his own Arthas and becoming the Arthas.

The thing that killed me in the War of the Ancient series was Malorne having his neck snapped by Archimonde... The Ancients who "died" in the fighting, the description of them was tremendously moving to me. But Broxigar really is the most badass character in the lore... I mean the audacity of his action alone would have cemented his place but killing legions of Demons and then ACTUALLY wounding Saergeras is so badass there is simply nothing that compete with that.

My top 10 lore moment. Broxigar and Sargeras (easily the most badass moment in War of the Ancient. However, I would like to point out that Broxigar didn't really wound on him but he scratched his armor still impressive but there is no way he could damage a God) Arthas murder his father (the most iconic moment in ROC) Arthas accession to the Throne (no question asked) Varian vs Garrosh in Wolf Heart (that battle show that Varian doesn't fuck around.) Garrosh vs Thrall (so emotional) SoO ending (Vojin Fa Da Win mon and of course, Varian being a badass as alway) Grom's sacrifice (Easily the most heroic sacrifice an Orc could make. This guy is a badass unlike his son) Sylvanas curse (you have no ideas how satisfied is it that you got annoyed by Sylvanas for 3 mission and finally get a chance to killed her. God she is annoying) WoD cinematic (hand down, best cinematic in WoW history) The bombing of Theramore (damn Jania, you finally become badass after 5 fucking expansions and 1 Warcraft game).

The exchange of their fighting and also their conversation was just epic overall! Although people can't appreciate the fighting because thrall used magic... well, that's how I feel every time I fight a caster with melee lol! Overall, this video really got me interested in learning more about the lore as I tend to just click accept and skip all the dialogue while questing. Thanks again Nix. Great Vid Buddy! There are some Fans I'm confident besides myself, that can remember the Ancient Days, when Warcraft's 1st game was released on PC. I had purchased my first "real" computer, a Dell with Win 95 installed and I did so for 3 specific games; - Baldur's Gate - Diablo, and of course - Warcraft Long story shorter, as fun as Warcraft "zug-zug" and Warcraft 2 were, Warcraft 3 of course brought the incredible new lore to an exciting new level! Warcraft 3 was the first "deep" story driven game of the series and my kids and I absolutely adored it. When WoW first launched, we dove in deep and were so excited to see the Lore from WC3 used to develop the masterful creation Blizzard launched. I lasted up until WotLK but moved on to other things after that ( my Kids meanwhile, continued with WoW retail to this day AND Classic!) Then, when Blizz announced the re-release of Vanilla as "Classic" and having just previously played Nostalrious' version for about a year, it was like returning to visit an old and dear friend. Thanks so much for bringing back some very fond memories. :)

I cant be the only one who dislikes when horde makes paladins and alliance makes shamens
@Oszy3339 жыл бұрын
T4c0 Tell me, why shouldn't the Sin'dorei, whose main religion is the Church of the Light have paladins ? And why shouldn't the Draenei, having interacted with orcs for hundreds of years, have shamans ? (Not gonna discuss the Sunwalkers and dwarven shamans, since the first are not real paladins, and I don't know enough about the second.)
@bbyrat9 жыл бұрын
Oszy it's faction specific (alliance made paladins while horde had shamans)
@Oszy3339 жыл бұрын
T4c0 It WAS faction specific, and it should never have been. And bringing it back wouldn't be balanced enough, Alliance would have a tank class more than Horde, that can heal and DPS too.

yeah, good point. Though to be fair this video was made long before the announcement of Legion, so it maybe wasn't as obvious how important that moment was in terms of lore. Turns out the Black Temple raid was more than just a B plot...

I honestly love Warcraft purely for the amazing content. When i was younger i was brought up with Warcraft 3 and Frozen Throne, man those are some epic games. The story lines all fit so well and are simply full of content. I love reading up on and learning more Lore that Warcraft supplies.

Oh hell yes. I loved that moment in Shadowmoon Valley too. Not sure it's the best lore moment, but it certainly is one of the better for me too :) I quite liked the bit in Frostfire as well, when Durotan's brother sacrifised himself. He was a bit of a bellend but did the right thing in the end.
@SckharVawn9 жыл бұрын
The Shadowmoon Valley is what made me see how Blizzard care for the alliance much more than they do for for the horde.. The first area questline for the Horde is terrible, boring and annoying, even though we deal with Durotan and his clan, it's super boring, while on the alliance side, they did make one hella of epic story.

Thank you for posting this video , i agree with these events being such an integral part of why people love world of warcraft, i remember the feeling of sadness when Malorne was killed, as in the book he had fought so hard to defend Azeroth, i also remember the rage that Ysera felt and how determined she was to get her revenge on the Legion, i hope Ysera and King Varian are brought back to life in the story, (and Tyrion) i play mostly horde but i love the alliance

You should call it Warcraft Lore not WoW lore, in my opinion WoW killed warcraft lore,so many thing are unrealistic , for example Archimond is so powerfull that some 40 dudes would be no near in even killing him so we had to be saved by malfurion and thousand of nelf souls sacrificing them...Now there gonna be 10 guys killing him in WoD ,Thats bullshit if you ask me , now lore is cutted down to really awesome expending the universe but the story overall and how the epic logical moments are turned into some stupid goofy ass encounters all for our enjoyment , all those epic characters created to only be killed by some ''heros'' without my epicness RTS>>>>>>>>>>>MMO in story telling, not to mentioning orc mages,undeads in horde or fucking paladyn tauren ... oh and i forgout about wow cinematics ofc like velen's sacrifice which is really cool etc etc.

cool list. Except, of course, the Broxigar bit. I always facepalm when I see people go on about how cool this dude is, because the whole War of the Ancients trilogy is by far the worst book I've ever read, written by the worst author imaginable, who retconned an entire franchise and made up timetravel crap just to be able to put his own self-inserts into already established lore, thereby f*cking said lore totally over. That abomination of a book should never have been published. Leads to quite a bit cringeworthy hilarity as well if someone decides to view it as canon. WC3, Nightelf campaign: "Tyrande, weird greenskinned beings are invading our lands!...on second thought, they look EXACTLY like the orc you loved so much that you cry in front of his statue every day!....So what should we do?"- "KILL THEM ALL!"
@Kazeshini256638 жыл бұрын
I must say, I loved the books as it had so many important characters, but I also hated how Time Travel was involved. It felt forced. And omw I could not get over Knaak's use of 'former and latter', he can write a book alone with home many times he uses it
@kesefm17394 жыл бұрын
I myself enjoyed the books. Not sure how the timetravel bit f*cks lore over. It really does not. That being said, it is perfectly fine you did not like the books. Does not mean Broxigar was not a bad ass Orc.

I am really glad you chose Malorne for the first one, when i read those chapters, i was amazed at how brave and determined Malorne was , and when he gets killed , it really got to me , even though i didn't know as much about Malorne other than that he was an Ancient, i love when Ysera swears vengeance against the Legion for Malorne's death , my favorite part of the book. All the Dragon Aspects do something amazing and well written in all three of those books.

Thanks! Great video! IMHO WoWs most touching lore moments were the ones that bridged the RTS game with the MMORP. I think that once the MMORP got started it went into multiple directions lore-wise and in many cases had to come-up with silly story arcs in order to accommodate for what the game required at the time. So, felt chills when walking along the central avenue in the undercity, listening to the echoes of the bells that once welcomed the crown prince Arthas. Was truly amazed when I first caught a glimpse of the dark portal (where it all began). Walking into Demon Fall Canyon where Grom fell. Yes, these are just landmarks that I mention but the lore that they awaken is memorable. :)
