+JTelli786 Probably not. The wild card was supposed to be a replay in which something amusing or interesting happened, and you don't get a 60% win rating from having interesting and amusing games. All that duffy did this game far as I can tell was stay at an optimal range from the enemy ship and spam that fire button, and once or twice close in for a torpedo attack. Not very interesting to watch I'll wager.

towards the end of this video we see how ridiculous this game is, as a Tirpitz (one of the best armoured ships ever made) is being molested by an invisible destroyer. This is a problem because HE can set things on fire in this game just by hitting them(which is totally inaccurate to real life). so, in summary a Battleship is being heavily damaged by a 5 inch gun on a destroyer just because HE can set things on fire... BULLSHIT

+audiotecmark Had Furutaka. Actually it is infamous for being one of the worst ships. Honestly I quite enjoyed it. But it has a short range compared with Omaha. Slow reload and turret traverse. Accuracy could be better. Yes, it can wreck apart a cruiser if it gets a lot of crits, but only IF. And the other thing would be the very poor armour. Your steering and engine are getting very easily knocked out, so do guns and the ship itself is a magnet for citadels

+The Mighty Jingles Finally you give us battleship captains some sympathy. Thank you! And thank you for pointing out the accuracy of his secondaries would be a matter of shame even for stormtroopers. They're nigh useless, although I think it'd be neat if they allowed you to aim the secondaries as a way to differentiate BB game play from cruisers a bit more allowing them to switch from short range rapid fire to long range slow fire would go a long way towards making BBs unique to play. As well as buff the AA slightly because right now the carrier is the king of this game.

Just before the live game release, i played a match with Duffys on my team. We both were in destroyers and we held off 5 ships by ourself's. 4 battleships, and a cruiser. All were above Tier 8 and we won but not by torpedoes. We won with just our guns. That was the best match i ever had.

Maybe its just me but I really like how all of the higher skilled players I've encountered are decent folks that Id buy a drink for. Its also amusing as hell that most of them have a sort of "I like you, I kill you last" mentality towards each other. One day, I hope to shed my proletariat skin and ascend to the upper ranks.

This video is a perfect example for illustrating why DDs are so overpowered and BBs are practically EXP pinatas for all the other ships. Glad I play for free while other people throw money at this foolishness. They do not deserve my money. I cannot wait to see how overpowered the NON-exsitent blue print Russian navy will be, especially if the Murmansk is anything to go by.

And the American torps is actually getting a buff! Not only that, when it's shown that Soviet DD stealth firing range is a bit too high, they got nerfbat pretty quickly. And, hell, the reason why that Gearing did so well is because it's being controlled by one of THE best DD player in the whole damn server...so, using outlier result to claim whole DD line as OP...I'm sorry, what?

The annoying thing was, way back 7 years ago when I saw this replay, you could sail a destroyer and stealth fire your guns. So I patiently worked my way up the american destroyer line and I was so close, so close to achieving a ship that could stealth fire, and then they nerfed the American Destroyer line. Over night, completely negated any motivation to grind any further up the line. Ultimately it really put me off WOWs as a whole. Knowing they could just flip the game mechanics on a whim really put me off.

Not sure if you meant it in a negative way at 4:26 but I think IJN BBs are supposed to sit in the back because they aren't blessed with good rudder shift times or good armor like USN BBs. Plus they have superior gun ranges so it's better to make use of it. The Yamato, however is like the only IJN BB to break this trend so it wouldn't make sense for him to be sitting in the back with a ship with a survivability rating of 100.

If you notice, they have been buffing american destroyers too, at least at the lower teirs. Increasing the secondary battery accuracy would screw the low and medium teir american and russian destroyers who have to get to point of suicidal range to even launch torpedos.

True, a 16'' HE shell would screw with torpedoes, but on the other hand in real life you pretty much can't see torpedoes at all, they don't generate even close to as much spray IRL, at least not the Japanese Long Lance ones. Most ships struck by torpedoes during WW" thought they had hit mines because they never saw the torpedoes coming.

+Erik Bergström thats a very true point and as much as i like dd play i gave up on BBs in part because unless i already had guns turned to dds i was dead. Things need to be addressed in this game though. My penscola will die in the same amount of hits that my DDs do. It literally is unarmored. Tonight I almost brawled a win on one with a mahan at low Km. If I had had full health I might have won.

They need to improve the effect of torpedo bulges, that is most certainly true. Unfortunately for your American cruisers, the Japanese cruisers (from what I understand) had much better torpedo bulges than their American counterparts.

Actually, secondaries of 152mm or larger FIRE AP! So the Yamato's 155mm guns do fire AP! The 127s fire HE, and the largest secondary cannons that still use HE IIRC, are the 140mm guns.

+1 on secondary. This guy had 8.7% hits with his. I have 12% on mine as a whole. (Main battery is 31%.) I've sunk 0.99% of my kills with secondarys. (11 in 1 276 battles) And you kind of shake your head at it when a DD can go for 3 km while you secondarys give all they've got without results. Same for example the Cleveland. It's supposed to have 12 127 mm guns, that's three DDs. But no damage at all when the fire. Hanse77 (SWE)

I was in my Atago, I wasn't paying attention then all of a sudden I get a kill notification and an alert that I have torps incoming portside stern. As I turn to avoid them, one of the enemy DDs in chat says, "good kill mate." At first I was confused, I was vaguely aware that my secondaries had been firing at something. Apparently when I wasn't paying attention, an destroyer had come up behind me in range of my secondaries. After he had dumped torps into the water, my secondaries apparently killed him. When I told him it was my secondaries, he laughed

I feel like the winner only won because he was in a Yamato, not because he played exceptionally well, which was kinda the point of this contest. His aim wasn't very good, and although he made the right tactical decisions, in many situations he wasted a lot of opportunities to even fire at an enemy. He didn't even get the high calliber award. But - the rules are the rules, so he won fair and true. Let's just hope that the next contest (if there is any) will have rules that cannot be exploited by having the biggest ship with the biggest guns.

Well, not to argue, but I did get the high caliber. And while not all of my shots were on target, the majority of them were. It's not easy to hit ships at those angles. But say what you will. Battleship games aren't that exciting to begin with.

+Terry Usher That's the point - it's not easy and a good replay should show pulling of these hard shots. Looking at the video again there was 1 moment that stood out to me as a bad decision. In 5:27 you shoot at an angled BB while there are 2 BBs showing their broadsides just behind the 1st one, one with low enough HP to be finished off. And yes, you got the High Caliber, my bad, I've mistaken one of the medals. But let's be honest - If this game was scaled to you being in Fuso and shooting at a whole bunch of Ishizuchis that would be a pretty mediocre game.

+Nozyk battleships should not be the ones giving out the finishing blows. With the long reload a BB has, it's stupid to waste a salvo on a ship with minimal HP. Let a cruiser burn it. Or a DD flood it. So, while you consider it a mistake or bad play, I consider it a smart play. That's the difference between us. You focus on kills, while I focus on actually trying to turn the tide of the game. A battleship that tries to kill everyone, is a complete waste. Why hit 6 people for 8k each and get 6 kills when you can hit 5 for 15k-30k each and let your team finish them? Getting a kill or two in the process. This isn't an individual game. It's a team game.

Following your train of though you should have hit the ship that was broadside to you, not the angled one - he had a lot of HP and you would 'contribute to the team' way better. I will strongly disagree that you can leave low HP enemies to the rest of the team. That's just damage farming and you are not removing the enemy guns that are shooting at your team in the process. The teams priority should be to focus targets 1 by 1 until they are dead. Unless you are in a platoon you should not trust your team to do the job for you, especially when most of them are in t8 premiums. When you are aimed and loaded at a low HP enemy, you kill him, because he also can be aimed and nearly loaded at you or someone in your team. Period.

+GermanWolf144 I would suggest Yamato. The Izumo was garbage, i heard it got a buff, but i haven't been in an Izumo in forever. Also, the Montana just cannot hold its own up against the Yamato. The Yamato can pen the Montana's citadel from the front. Yamato just does not care about armor. But WG knows this so they make you pay for it with the Izumo.

XD I get that the horrid accuracy of the battleship's secondary guns is frustrating, but destroyers are already taking a pasting in high tier battles. Lunatics like duffeys1 aside, the stats for destroyers are terrible right now, while the stats for tier 9 and 10 battleships are actually decent. Should we really be buffing a class that is performing well in order to counter a class that isn't?

+Genmasaotome16 It's not a bad ship, the issue is that many new players rushed to buy it as their first ship. Not having any experience in the game and jump right away into a tier 8 battleship is gonna spell disaster.

+Allison Halsey hence why I gave the game a rest when OBT came around, will pick it up again a coupla months after release. Learned that lesson from WoT lol

damn lol i play like this in my Yamato and everyone insists im an idiot. Shame he didn't shoot at duffeys1 with HE just after he fired at the Izumo. It would have bin speculative but duffeys1 was stationary when he was spotted and didn't move even after Crustay reloaded. Would have bin worth a shot just to see if he could hit him and those 18.1 inch HE shells are very nasty. Still an awsome game thou and nice he got an ok reward for it. Im suprised you didn't recieve a replay from Deprivatepickle (or how ever his name is spelled sorry it's a tricky one to remember lol) since Ichase sent you one Pickle is a very good Yamato player with some monster damage games and he has had (and so have i) games where the secondaries have done heaps of damage anywhere from 40K to 80K damage on there own.
