Somehow, I missed this ship when she came out, but I think she's been on sale again recently, and it's an Akizuki-class destroyer, and I really like the Aki, so here we go.

WG dished so many premiums out lately I completely forgot this thing existed and apparently she also got buffed one patch ago. Btw if you are dogfighting a DD use AP, it’s way stronger than HE, I think this goes for all DDs except maybe the Americans ones since they have such a high shell ballistic

I generally use AP at close range against DDs, but will switch at longer ranges - the 100mm pen does drop off quite quickly, and IJN low-calibre AP isn't the best to begin with

Good review Terry…140 subs away!!!! So the Akizuki would be a better choice then the Fenyang. I’d like a Fenyang because I have not yet played the Akizuki. Anyways keep up the good work and thanks

I was a big fan of the PanAsian ships and their torps... Was working for the whole line, and had gotten up to Gadjah Mada. But then I realized that the Swedish DDs have a better (highest) flooding chance in the 30%+zone... Theyve become the go-tos for missions that call for flooding, and the PanAsian DDs have been largely forgotten...

Hsien Yang is an excellent boat. USN guns, deepwater torps that hit hard, smoke & radar, can come as a nasty surprise to DDs who think PAs are easy prey.

Akizuki and i suppose fenyang as well can be really fun but personally ive found aki's guns to be relatively dissapointing On paper, akizuki has the highest DPM and best firestarting capacity among tier 8 destroyers I certainly do feel the firestarting part of aki, for a DD she tends to burn ships pretty hard The damage output is another story, her guns by themselves dont feel particulary amazing, i have taken on akizukis in an uncomfortably even fight in an ognevoi and i think we know how tragic ognevoi's guns can be Personally i have found tashkent's guns to be more reliable against capital ships and far superior in DD gunfights

Aki's 100mm guns aren't doing a lot of damage per shot. In a DD fight, she won't easily stand up against Soviet or German DDs, but when it comes to sheer dakka / raining down death and destruction, she's great. The big advantage Aki gets over Fen Yang is the torp reload, allowing her to rush / one-shot. Also, Aki has the better effective fire chance, because while Fen Yang's guns do more damage, they have the the same fire chance with a slower reload.

Does IFHE skill on Akizuki work like in PC? Akizuki should be able to take on DDs easily.

This is a fairly decent ship, I've enjoyed playing it. I've had some fairly good results with it

Yeah, not a bad ship at all, although I personally would prefer either Aki or Hsien Yang.

Yeah, armour on the British CA is really Bad even though the Albamarle itself has decent AA.

The matching the 2nd battle is whats been driving me crazy!!! Look at all the LegendLeaguers on the enemy team!!! Not that its guaranteed, but the odds are ugly before it begins!! Imagine if you werent there, and another average, lesser player was!! I dont know how the matching works, but Im gonna say its not working well!!! USNvet, JRDJ, NA server

Matchmaking takes league into account to some degree, but yes, could be better. It's actually more balanced than it used to be. My mistake here was to smoke up while Ochakov wasn't shooting at me (although that was probably a 50/50 chance). Since he only took 3 torps, it took longer to gun him down, and he was able to do enough damage to me for the CV to finish me off.

I built my Yueyang to attack destroyers or even possibly destroy them. I 1V1 A Gearing and won.

They’re vastly different boats. Cossack is a pure gunboat//TBD. Fenyang is a Gunboat/TB hybrid sure they layout is similar but the implementation and goals are different. Fenyang has DW torps making it more of a hybrid. Where as Cossack is a pure TBD. Fenyang would not do good in a fight against DD, unless it was a TB as well then it might fare ok. Cossack fares wel against either TB or TBD.

I’ve used the pan Asian in DD knife fights but I prefer to have the torps as a backup as well, not just a faint or trick. To me the DW DD’s are torp boats because of the massive damage potential of them and lack of being able to hit DDs.
