World of Warships Blitz - WG's Response to New Year Controversy

The first response from Wargaming has been released on the official Blitz discord dev channel, so let's take a look at what's been said, what hasn't been said, and if player grievances that have caused half the CCs to leave the program have been addressed.

Extremely well said there Terry. The prioritization is one of the biggest issues and from what I can tell, they don't even listen to us. After the many years I was a CC for this game, I tried multiple times to give detailed reports on bugs and reproductions. Nothing ever got fixed. I tried putting entire balancing patches with small minor but important buffs to ships together and nothing changed. When I asked Maddy about the bots issues last Novemberish, she had told me the dev team said, they fixed it. They fixed the bot movement. Sure, right.... They aren't listening to us or they aren't listening to the feedback we are giving Maddy or Valk or anyone at Wargaming who is listening to us. You hit the nail on the head with this video. On the price increases, one reason dropped being a CC and a paying customer was because for some nations, this game just became F2P whether you want to or not. The prices are astronomical compared to other games. Even games that are known for being pricey, aren't this pricey in those regions. I stand in solidarity with those players. This was a half baked response to calm the "wait one month" crowd so that they can continue business as usual in the coming months. But I digress. You are probably right on that the bots were probably slapped together at the last minute and never got removed because "We have this feature, lets keep it" but they never reviewed if it was good :D. They did the turret bug fix and can do the bot fix. Just schedule it.

Prices of legends are pretty much same for premium ships. But premium camo comes with it.

I've been playing since before the official release. Well over 7 years. We have been through this and heard all of this countless times. Monkeys will fly out of my ass long before the thought of them fixing anything crosses their minds. They can say what they want. After 7 years, there is no excuse for it not fixed now

7 years later----"bots are an issue" at some point you have to accept they really dont care, and it wont be fixed. Seriously guys, this game wont be getting fixed at all. These issues have been here for that long they wont be fixing them now.

Yeah. Improve the game, get criticised. Do nothing, get criticised. My view of it all is that humans like to be negative. You see it all over social media and it feeds off itself to create a toxic environment. I play both Blitz games and call myself a passive player. I go with the flow and am more likely to be critical of not fixing problems. My clan of 50 people in WOTB has expressed just one comment about the proposals. 95% of the player base would be like this. Play the game, have fun, and stay passive.

​​@@halbailman thr graphics changes are updates ,but sets and cartoon commanders and cartoon UI and the economy fuckup are the problems to me , the UI gives headache and eye hurt ,the commanders are nonsensical ,and everything adding up to change the wotb from a historical game to a cartoon Game .... but it's just my opinion 😅 no offence like solve the nub player base problem by some training missions for free gold and tank etc , or the Map problem with Castilla and others , or the turbo battles problem ,literally tons of true problems wargaming made more problems as a literal Update ......

Another thing is, some ships are really old. They have been since the game was launched and now they are kinda power crept. For example, Tirpitz, Gearing, Montana, etc...

Hi Terry, many thanks for another very balanced view of the current situation. One point that triggers me - who is suffering the most by WG and and that CCs are resigning, reducing or changing? It’s not WG, it’s the player base. We are now sitting with our beloved game and have now no common spokes person anymore. Therefore I am highly thankful, that you keep up the work for us. Anyway, what’s up with these crazy dragons 😂😂😂?

Similar situation. I'm still enjoying the game, but I won't be chasing the latest premiums... I've still got some grinds going, but it's an "occasional" thing at the moment.

Once again, well said Terry! As I mentioned in my video I think this response is a cover up as there is no mention of price hikes at all, just “monitoring feedback.” Being sick is also not an excuse for this late of a reply as other WG staff could have made an announcement and Maddy was on in the week after the price hikes collecting bot behaviour footage.

I've been playing WoWs Blitz for just about a year and a half and all I've ever known is bots drifting and turning on a dime. To hear that it's been a problem for a long time doesn't inspire much confidence.

I've been playing since beta, which was something like 7 years ago, and bots always have been problematic. I also think while they're certainly a big issue, there are more, especially around ship and island hitboxes. We'll see if fixing those is going to make it onto the roadmap eventually. The fact that it gets acknowledged is a good start, and it just took a playerbase rebellion to get there. We've had success before with the turret bug, but nothing moves fast on the roadmap. That's what us CCs are for, hounding WG over the years to fix things 😂

The bots are weird, and since they are bots, it doesn't bother me. My only concern is if they are the remaining players, it would be good to instruct them, like capture a base or retreat. Often they charge to the remaining human enemy and get wrecked! I've since learned to try instruct them before I sink. Particularly to get or defend a base. My issue across both Blitz games is the matchmaking. You can be loaded with bad teams one day and always lose. Return to that tank or ship the next day and always win. Changing tier and type often flicks the switch too. Clearly there's modes to it, and it's far worse in WOTB. Other than to play on player psychology, I don't know why WG does this. At least flip it after 3 battles, not 20!

My hypothesis is there were two teams--mechanics, and content. The mechanics of the game seem to never change--bugs are reserved across years of updates. Mechanics developers were contracted at to begin the game expecting to never need to touch that code again. The money would be generated by Content--ships, maps, graphic layout, etc.--is the only stuff that is updated. The game feels as if the developers never actually PLAY the game.

Hey mate👋, I’ve reported an issue to WG staff I Support part,about I haven’t received discount coupon for Blitz Pass almost more than mounts,I can’t remember 5 or more.…, they simply answered me that” it’s not guaranteed for all players “, …I already got this option in my NA and Asian servers account all the times, just not in my oldest one in EU😂😅…, recently they stopped answering as new strategy to punish me, pushing to be silent 😅, it’s just an example of being careless, they don’t understand their responsibilities . Unfortunately WG is going in the wrong way…, I hope they will listen to the voices of experienced people like you mate🤞🤞😜

It takes a whole month with boosters to get a tier t10. And they release new ship lines almost every few patches. The economy is very worse. I played an entire match and get MVP but the amount of silver i get without bonus is like ~30k. And the XP I get is also worse. If i lose the game or get nuked by pemium ships at the start then my boosters are gone for good. Nobody wants to play low tiers for weeks. I eventually give up the grind and move to a new low tier ship and suffer the grind there. At the end of this all i reach t10 and get bots instead of players. And the enemy bots capture points and hold them while by bots gets nuked by enemy or they go to the end of the map. If you want more player in t10 gou need to help them grind it. 13M silver is needed just for the t10 Hull and need 8M more for the equipments. Let's not talk about camo. 200k for commander retraining. This is going to take multiple weeks to grind. You can either focus on one line only for a whole month or give up and quit.

The goal of the game is not to get to tier 10 as fast as possible.😉 The goal is to get good. For that you need a certain amount of grind. If you are bad in a t6 ship, you are most likely worse in a t10 ship of that same line. One doesn't become a good player by getting a tier 1O ship, and you don't have better games, because the other players there have t10 ships, too. Tier 10 simply has a higher skill cap. And you see a lot of players there lately who don't have a clue how maps and game modes work, how winning conditions are, how different ships are played, and what roles different ship types have. That makes for many needless throws. Especially CV and DD players who skipped the grind and have no clue how to play for the team to win, can ruin a game from the beginning for the rest of the team.

been playing Blitz since release, now left the game. Bots did not have such mechanics in the beginning. It was like few years into the game when they’ve added this unrealistic mechanics to bots. I think Wows Blitz is the most greedy WG project. Legends on the other hand has a much bigger developers team and is support and not as greedy. You actually get ships with opening crates. Switched to wows legends mobile and enjoying the game again.

To raise prices I think is wrong. WG priorities are misplaced. So many players have left over the bugs, glitches, poor customer service, etc. Honestly, I think WG should halt any new content until they fox what they have. If you build on a shaky foundation, eventually things will fail. Stop. Fix the crap that's been screwed up since the beginning. This is a great game. You need skill to win. Not just money. I still haven't heard back about getting my main account back that I lost from the Facebook delete. 0 customer service.

One reason that there are not enough players, certain fleets use pc emulator to play the game. That ruins the game for many, especially new players. You can aim by mouse on a 40 inch screen, really improves aiming. The emulator makes a small latency so they emulator players are not where you aim looking i real time so they almost takes no damage at all. but the improved aiming makes the deal 4X normal damage. So that ruins the game a lot. And of course the lack of geografical distrubited servers making another knd of latency.

I've always played on a 6'' phone screen, and I'd say I can still hold my own in a regular T10 match. For me, the issue is that the game itself is simply a bit of an oddity at this point - it's relatively old, and there are quite a few competitors in the market now, not the least from WG themselves with Legends Mobile.

Terry we can all hope that they will fix bots/ bugs and resolve the pricing issues but unfortunately WG has never shown that they care! I won’t hold my breath and will continue to play less and less. After 7 years the game has become stale!

I still enjoy the occasional match, but I don't play as much as I used to. Grinding still provides some goals, there are a lot of tech tree ships to unlock, but I'm in the same boat, I'm at a "wait and see" position for now.

CC is community contributor. People like content creators for the game who also give feedback.

CCs are community contributors (like yours truly), ST are supertesters. CCs make videos about the game, stream etc, but we're also pretty close to the player community, and are voicing the players' concerns to Wargaming. Supertesters are players outside WG who assist with balance-testing ships pre-release.

Bots I knew World of warships would take It to far started with co-op and now they have moved on to operations and in rewards have been cut 30 to 40% . The bots are so strong now I lose more games than ever In operations' WG wants you to lose more games on average just like Random battles,and waist more on reward boosters. They are worth less now and the same with In game rewards over all by 35%....

ive been playing war thunder mobile a lot more recently because of wg using all of their resources for making more events and stuff instead of improving the game like adding wave sounds or torpedo launch animations and the general unpolished feel of wowsb. it seems like the devs still have passion for the game but the corporate side of the company just wants more money.

el juego es antiguo. el problema de bots siempre ha existido y no lo van a arreglar ahora.y encima suben precios. ellos solitos se caban su propia tumba .hay muchos juegos que se actualizan constantemente y ellos pocas mejoras implementan. juego desistalado.y me descargo uno actual y no abandonado como blitz.

This post is pretty much saying nothing. If you want players jump on your train at least tell some of your future plans instead of saying big plans. Big plans are plans.. Plans arent even developed yet.
