Jingles, I don't think that the aoba was firing HE when he citadelled the Murmansk at the start... The 0.5.3 patch made it so that a ship remembers what your last ammo load out was. Chances are his was AP. However, the replay client has not been updated to account for this change, so everyone still starts with HE according to the replays.

I've been in that situation in my Aoba starting 3:20 - with the only exception being far better torpedo salvos and the never-ending incoming fire from battleships and cruisers.

He is not spamming HE and Citadell with it...it is just a replay bug caused by the "you start with the ammonition you had shot last game", so dont expect to Cita with HE guys ;)

The HE spam at the start could be the new feature of the game remembering your last selected ammunition, but the replays sets it as HE as default.

I love the torps on Aoba (10 km range), but the guns recycle to slowly. The fighter is a big help against air attack.

I often preloaded HE on battle start, because you often see enemy destroyers spotted as first thing in range and your destroyers will need support fire asap. Its like killing light tanks early in game to get vision advantage. In wot, it can be major advantage, in wows its big advantage too, because its not easy spot sneaky destroyer without another sneaky destroyer. Aoba is good ship. I had plenty of good games with Aoba. People underestimate Aoba often, as they think its bad ship, but i've given many lessons about "How can be Aoba good, if you do not suck".

Jeez Jingles... The Furutaka has 203mm guns and he was not firing HE at that Murmansk, that was a replay glitch, unless somehow high explosive is penetrating almost 80mm of armor. You can also check for the shell color difference.

I am pretty sure he didn't actually fire HE in the beginning, he probably had AP loaded, this is a common replay bug.

This video exemplifies the major problem with a lot of Carrier players. They don't follow the team at a safe distance. They act like airfields, unmoving and immovable. They play as if they're playing artillery in World of Tanks.

The eastern mountain range doesn't have a path through it, and capping the point in the 2 point version of the point race doesn't result in immediate win (since it would give 1000 point now). Good thing tho, Invader_Zim would have lost when the BB cap his base if it was in newer version...

Well, at least I have some more motivation for getting past the unbelivably bad Furutaka now -.- Sure, it does get guns of the same caliber as the Aoba, but they only fire every 15 secs and the turrets are placed sooo very badly you cant even dodge enemy fire without losing all but two guns on the target. I do definitely know why the IJN wanted a new version of that ship...

+117Fatality Also you tend to overpenetrate everything you shoot AP at except BBs, where it just bounces. No ships except BBs have thick enough armor for the AP to do its full damage, so you are pretty much stuck with shooting HE at everything. I think that is the reason we see the Aoba in the video shooting mostly HE as well.

I found both aoba and furu very good if you just follow a battle ship (the enemy tends to shoot them then you can spam them with HE)

jingles i no you do pc but i was wondering if you would give us your opinion on the console version of wot, atleast on xbox one o can say with certainty that the player base is diminishing.. for a number of reasons, however the most prominant is the match maker, there simply isnt enough players to maintain a NA east and a NA weat server wich is matching people all the time with tanks 2 tiers higher, as a result people are getting frustrated and picking it up less and less... the solution is simple i think, combine the servers its so frustrating getting into a match like 30 games in a row ans be bottom tier by 2 tiers and having a kv3 vs a e75, of course its part of the game but it is just far to regular... fo you think its possible for them to combine the servers while still keeping them in there seperate locations that way maintaining connection speeds ans also wnlarging the player base... as a reference there is sometimes less than 10 people a tier... for over 2 hours a time
