Pro tip from a fellow Kami owner - when you have a DD getting that close drop torps on wide never narrow. The wide will spread out just enough to catch him no matter what he does at 3km or less. Instead of engine room protection drop for torp mod 1 - you get a McDonald's ice cream machine DD! Broken! North of 70kts on your fish with that 7km range , mack truck level of damage...god tier seal clubber.

I remember the event to get the Kami R. For a while I didnt do it because I had my Minekaze and thought there was no point. But eventually I decided to do it and now am so glad that I did when they nerfed the IJN line!

Kami used to be OP. After the CV rework it now regularly has 4 CV games which make it just like any other dd. The stats are inflated because it's usually in the hands of great players who have been playing 5 years. I play it regularly and it is definitely not OP anymore. It's OP like the Black, Gremy, Flint etc....as in not but once was. Getting within 6k to throw torps at tier 7 ships, getting past gunboat DDs and CVs that regularly take 2/3s HP in one strike and the rest in the second is not easy. This was OP 4 years ago. Today it's just as power creeped as any ship in the game and lives on the memory of how it used to play before CV refit and 4 years of better ships being put in game.

Well, it's understandably hard to change something people have paid money for. It's actually quite illegal in some areas. So Premium ships cannot (really) be nerfed, just mechanics around them.

Have them both, love them both. And the Gremyashchy (I am a bad person). Tell you what, though... the T61 is a hidden monster in this game. I'm 65% R & Fuji, 64 in the Gremmy, and 64 in the T61. I have no idea why this very OP DD isn't recognized as such, but fast, good cammo, 60sec torp reload, and HYDRO at tier 6. Num Num.

There was an event very early on in the game (2016) where you could earn the ship for free by collecting pearls I believe. A bit later on they sold the Kamikaze in the premium shop for a short while. I believe there is another ship, the Fujin, which is identical to the Kamikaze but has a Halloween permanent camouflage. The funny thing is that the ship used to be very similar to the tech tree Minekase until they adjusted the line. I believe Minekase was slightly faster and had margionally worse concealment. However, Minekase (rightly) got nerfed hard but Kami kept her 68kt torps which are insane at tier 5.

(Disclaimer: I really like your Harugumeme video - but still...) Isn't this a bit pathetic? A unicum player, using an OP ship with a 19 point captain... for seal clubbing? Duuude, at least give yourself some handicap. I admit I love me some low-tier seal clubbing, too. But when I do it, I avoid OP ships like the Clemmy (even though I love it!), use 6 point captains or lower and use no flags. Gives the whole business at least some sort of fairness.
