I was a massive World Party fan and although I had purchased Dumbing up at the time , I came to realise that I hadn't played it very much ! I'm so enjoying it much now. Karl you were a genious. R.I.P .. love you forever !!

This is a unique video!! Honest!! You see all the instruments are playing the ACTUAL recorded parts on the track....It is a live recording and in each of the clips with each instrument I am playing the part for the FIRST TIME not knowing how the tune goes. It is literally a one man JAM. I recorded the audio and filmed me recording the audio for each instrument. There is no miming. This is me LIVE playing however many tracks there are......that's how I have always worked. I.E. before filming this video, there was NO SONG. I did the acoustic guitar first have set up a click track (which is also shown) Then I filmed all the playing of all the other instruments. All the vocals are the real vocals live! I don't think it's been done before. There was no song before filming started.

I have done the same thing, but I must say, I never ended up with anything I'd let people hear that was comprised entirely of first takes! Damn! Well Karl, when muscians are in "touch" with that energy stream, this can happen. I think it is a first for someone who is recognized as you are, to do that. Great song, totally spontaneos. For me, those spontaneous pieces always start off with a feeling and a mood I want to paint, with the backdrop being a point or comment I want to make....and try to pass along to the listener. I've come close to doing that sort of thing with audio, but the video idea, and the quality of the end result is genius. There was a recent saying in a big time US debate that was televised that goes something like, "It is what it is because you are who you are..." Thank you again Karl for such a great audio and visual masterpiece!
