Past or present, I don't get Jake's play. Tank folding bad hands pre like he needs tv time to stay alive. Does a bad shove with rags, won't see a flop with a pocket pair getting a good price. Van Patten saying he's a regular in LA cash games is perplexing.

It's amazing how bad people were at poker back in 2006

It really is, Kemba raise/folding top pair b vs b clearly trying "to see where he is at". Might as well have 72os if you're gonna raise/fold. Always laugh when I see horrible live players use this logic

Keep in mind the WPT came out right when the poker boom came out lol. So many donks were playing in the WPT and that's why you see so many of these no name final table players who aren't around anymore.

I played full-time from 2004 to 2007...I can wholeheartedly confirm. Regardless of personal wealth, everyone wanted to act like the players they saw on TV, so the ones with significant money just jumped right into the medium/high stakes games - despite not being good enough to win a local nightly tournament. You could build a life-sustaining bankroll in a matter of two weeks, blow it all on nonsense, and just *know* that you will easily rebuild again every time. I'm definitely super grateful to have been borne right into that gold rush! 🤑

This Kevin guy is terrible. Calls a big bet out of position with KQ, hits flop, and donk bets right into the guy taking away the c-bet bluff.
