Dr se vu just like my dads 7 1/2 gauge logging show i helped biuld in the 80s .More compact with 150 feet ,of scale trestie ,,no guard rail and steep grades ,,very hairy but great fun , it was called Haggis Haven Railroad i now run the equipment on the British Columbia Society of Model Engineers track called Burnaby Central Railway which I'm lifetime member, HHRR is gone but the memories remain This is a great hobby that has been in family since 19 30 s My daughter owns a loci like the one shown ,,she is the 3rd generation model engineer and my grandkids are 4th generation , You never give up your toys they just get bigger , Lovely video , Cheers from Canada!

Love it! I grew up in San Antonio texas,where we have the Brackenridge Eagle 1/3 replica train (610 mm)......it has a couple of trestles,the bigest iron girder bridge is great but nothing like this. This trestle is fantastic how it passes so close between trees,very wonderful railway this man built.

Awesome video. Either that drone pilot must have had some balls or the aircraft was really small. I would personally never fly my own equipment that close to those trees. The trestle is also very impressive though I'd be incredibly worried about a derailment causing everything to fall.

It is impressive. I'm wondering what the load limit is on the trestles, could buddies with steam engines ride on it, or would it be diesel/gasoline only. And the dedication: The guy could have built a tunnel under his front yard to keep it on grade but instead he made the ultimate trestle system.

it seems like you need more cross bracing on your trestle i know the tracks hold it from the very top but i would add some more lower down
@royreynolds108
@royreynolds108 4 жыл бұрын
Based on standard timber trestle plans of several railroads, it does need some more bracing on the taller sections between bents as sway bracing and longitudinal bracing. Also from a prototypical perspective, the deck truss should be supported on the ends and not between any of the nodes on the bottom chord. The construction looks to have been very well done.
Cab ride on the Landsend Railroad. Now bigger and better, 2021.
