At the risk of sounding snarky, but this is what happens when one company holds a virtual monopoly on a particular service-in this case, Microsoft’s domination of the computing space. I don’t personally use Microsoft-I use a combination of Apple products and two Linux distros, and I’ve seen no problems… I think this situation underscores the need for backup plans.
