He doesn't seem to know the trick. It was a trick done just for the home audience. It was never done for a live audience and the people holding hands were all in on the trick and just actors. The people on the end let go of their hands so the train could be pulled out. Of course, the camera wasn't pointed in that direction at the time.

But the thing about the first one is, once I saw dynamo (a famous magician) do that trick with a GLASS bottle.

Lazer yeahh.. there's more than meets the eye with that one. His explanation doesn't do anything for me. For example: the dude putting the phone through the bottle, the lady peels off the sticker and there is no slit, and the thing about that trick that erks me the most is, he asks the guy to write his name on the sticker and then puts on the bottle, which to most people seems completely irrelevant but if something "supernatural" is going on, i believe that is a key component to performing his "trick". I need a more thorough explanation on that. I won't rule out the possibility it's real until i have a complete thorough answer. So i stand neutral on that one.

The train one? Well if it rolls away, what about the people standing around it? Does the train just go thorough them? And if the cloth covers a roof-shape construction of the train, where does that construction go? It doesn’t just vanish.

With a stronger material? Diamond is the strongest material and cuts glass like a hot knife cuts throught butter, and because the blade is really small, it doesn't even cost much to adquire.

I don't know why I have to say something so obvious but, maybe the magician knows the width of the phone and just makes a cut the size of that? If you are good at getting the viewers distracted from your hands, or just hide your true intentions, nobody will notice.

Jonas Werner Günter I don't even bother with TV-only-tricks. There is no point in them. Of course I watch magic tricks on TV or via internet but those are either magicians I know, and I've seen them perform the trick on multiple different locations. And then there is the studio audience magic shows, which are kind of iffy. There are normal people there who paid for the ticket, but who knows if those people are reliable, they are looking for cue cards to know when to clap or cheer! If magician can only do the trick when only people that are around are in on it, or they need to rely editing, then it's not a magic trick. It is something that anyone can do. The more skill and cunning involved, the better the trick. Like simple card or coin tricks can look awesome when you realized that the magician had to practice the moves and dexterity for years! Wish I had that kinda discipline.

The camera angle, those standing on the tracks likely moved very briefly to allow the train to move and got back into formation before the cloth was lifted.
