What was John Lennon's favourite Beatles song??
Well, it's on record that 'Here, There and Everywhere' was up there as one of them. Which is rather cool when you think that it's actually penned by Paul McCartney. But hardly surprising as it's undoubtedly one of the best songs ever written and up there with many a Beatles fan favourite (mine included!)
What makes it so brilliant? In this video, I liken it to being like a beautifully cut diamond, sparkling from every angle. It has a rather unusual modulation in it but it is almost seamlessly done and only serves the song all the more when it return back to the home key.
And songwriters take note - Paul McCartney hooks you in with the most incredible opening refrain that hints at the incredible harmony and beauty that is to come. A true masterpiece in every sense of the word!
