@@thomasshelby7507 I understand what you're all saying but most just don't care. I'm given a new car as a company vehicle every 3 years (currently a 330e M Sport) and clean it once a week in automated car washes as it is just convinient - swirls can be the owners problem 10 years down the line. Even if I cared - one day of work is worth £250. If I spent one day a fortnite cleaning it over 10 years because I was worried a business or personal vehicle might not look as good its a massive waste of time and effort. I can bring it to you guys and have it paint corrected before resale etc. for a fraction of that lost income. It's not always ignorance - just convince and speed. Massive respect for detailers and their trade though. Plus, as others have said, gives you loads of business.

Same here. Professionally, I offer high quality wash jobs to semi trucks, and always tell people how damaging car washes are to your paint. But my car is 8 years old, and the last thing I want to do after hand washing cabs all day is to go home and wash a car for free. If I had an expensive car, sure. But a $4k Ford Fusion? Nah.

Years ago as an Englishman working in Germany I treated my nice new Mitsubishi Colt turbo to a car wash. I was 19 and it was my first car. I was completely blown away seeing a group of highly efficient detailers leap on my dirty car, I paid for the full monty and it was an absolute pleasure to watch. This was in the 80s and to my knowledge we didn't have anything like this in England at that time.

Of course nothing is softer on your car than hand washing, but honestly, this car wash is amazing and really much better than your usual gas station car wash. I used to go there quite a lot and never noticed any swirls (other than the one time I went somewhere else). The quick pressure-pre-wash gets off a lot of the debris that mainly causes those dreaded swirls. Also, other than most car washed, they regularly wash the cloths in the car wash so they don't even get the chance to collect as much dirt as others. For the interior cleaning they won't even reuse a cloth for a second car but toss it in the laundry bin and get a clean one every time. Thoroughly hand washing your car with a sponge that wasn't properly cleaned might actually do more damage to your paint than this "paint swirl factory" as some here call it. I always love to do to Mr Wash, although I have to admit, watching a couple of probably not very highly paid people clean out my car feels a bit condescending.
@JMc.D4 жыл бұрын
I like detailing and hand washing but for 90% of the world they just want their car cleaned. As far as everyday car washes go I’m very impressed. Massive operation.
@justanotherstoner61762 жыл бұрын
Just clean involves hand washing and detailing, your average car wash doesn't do shit and the brushes that scrub the car usually leave scratches in the paint. If you spend time detailing you'll notice no car that comes out of a car wash is just clean, far from clean just gets some wet work done at the cost of shredding your paint. The best way I can explain it is getting a half ass exterior wash and still having door jams, windows, wheels, wheel wells, and interior to clean and that's over half the car lol

This seems really cool and high tech but i would never take my car to there or any place like that because the chemicals they use are bad for the car and often are cheap products or else it would cost too much, they are alkaline and acidic which can ruin car paint over time but they use it so it is easier to remove stuck dirt and grime etc. The contact wash is even worse because the microfibre spinning things dont get cleaned leaving dirt and abrasive substances stuck on them causing swirls and scratches on the car paint which look terrible. Car washing and detailing takes time and 30 seconds is not quality work, it is just for people who want express cleaning who dont really care about their car. also exposing a car to high tempuratures after a cold wash is also not good. I dont know why there are many luxury and expensive cars going there but they will soon realised what these automatic washing systems do to the cars. If you really care about you cars, please take them to a experienced car detailer or wash it by yourself with correct methods.

Would love the option of the 30 min wash and polish with a 99 euro oil change in such little time here in Ireland. €220 is also great value for the more intimate paint correction in the detailer.
@JeffSmith-eq3kc Жыл бұрын
Yes that price is wild. Without a ceramic coating to have your paint polished in my area is $500+. I actually bought a dual action polisher and do it myself once a year. There's nothing difficult about the process but doing it correctly does take many hours. The prep is the key, the actual polishing is pretty simple. Right tool, right pads, right compound and polish and it's just guiding a machine around your car.

@hephaistosthesmith20694 жыл бұрын
it actually isnt, go to your detailer and ask them to do a full cleanup for 28€ and wait for their reaction, hard stuck crusted grime is hard to clean without hard chemicals, which they did use after the complaint

@@bry120 correct. This new form of touchless is found globally now. The problem with that is, it does not remove the stuck on dirt or grime off the surface well enough to make it a proper wash. Sure, you have water blasting at over 3000PSI but you're harming your paint as well.

The car wash was invented in California by Al Swink right after WW2. The air blowers were surplus B-17 supercharger motors. The facility was HUGE with people driving hours to get there. It was the lead story in Look magazine. Al also invented the three prong straight cut metal shears.
