I went to that Starbucks on my trip to Japan! Everything was so delicious and I loved that you could watch the roasters and climb to the top floor. I got a cocktail there as well and the lady let me film her making my drink. Such an art form

that thing you do to moisten the bread is something called humectification. In France (one of my home countries), everyone does this, but I've never seen people do it in Japan. Very cool to find a gadget like that here!

Can't believe how much the coffee/cafe culture has risen in Japan since I first started travelling there (11yrs ago). Coffee was what I missed most about home when visiting Japan back then - I'm from Melbourne, Australia where the cafe culture is huge! It's hard to find a bad brew here, even in the lesser known cafes. Starbucks isn't super popular here (yet?) Less than 40 stores scattered around the country & less than 10 of those in Melbourne alone. Having said that, the last time I was in Japan (Nov-Dec 2019), my airbnb was situated in the same street as a Starbucks & I became a frequent visitor for my daily caffeine hit. Their coffee roasting has improved immensely in the last few years! Starbucks Reserve looks next level!! P.S. Oden is soooo yummy I agree. Tastes even better the next day too! :))
