Guys I suggest getting a closed track for the next go. Incredible run! Almost unbelievable. Brushless motors are crazy and the power the lipos have is just as impressive. You've surpassed dangerous speeds though. It looks like an industrial park on the weekend but you never know....

DANG DAWG. Watched this video so many times I ended up buying a mbx8 with a Mamba Monster X and a 1515 2200kv motor. Right now I'm getting just over 80mph on 6s. Have to stop after two or three runs to keep motor temp down but esc stays cool. Forgot what spur gear I'm using but it seems to barely top out at the distances I run. Is it possible to dependably reach 100 mph with this motor esc combo? I see people cracking 100 on 6s all the time. What am I doing wrong? Running stock buggy body and gpm wheels. Any setup tips would be much appreciated. Thanks!

You should've had a full set of solid foam tires on the car! I have a set (about $80) for my Losi 8ight so it can drive on-road, reaching high speeds and they don't blowout. Gratz on the speed reading, sorry about the mishap. I wanna see you do 200+mph!

I'm wondering if your trap speed is right. Not doubting it was a freakin' fast run but with some of the simpler traps, if the distance between is off;even by a foot; it would give some ridiculous numbers. Most of them are meant to be stretched the full length of the cords between the timing heads, yours seem to have quite a bit of extra slack cord. What was the GPS info after uploading to your laptop?

Did you set the speed trap for the exact distance between the two eyes? It looks to me like you have the eyes much closer together than a default setting (a ton of unused cable bundled up between the processor and the eyes). If the trap's processor isn't programmed for the exact distance between the eyes you will get an inaccurate reading. In this case it looks like the eyes are much closer-together than a standard setup, if not programmed correctly that would result than a much-higher speed reading than what the target vehicle was actually doing.

The traps were exactly 20 ft apart although it may not look like it in the vid. However, I replaced the GPS screen a few weeks later and it read 164 mph. I'll take either one.

That tire come apart before the speed trap. If you listen closely you can hear the sound of the tire coming apart before the trap. This car might have gone faster if it wasn't for the tire. But never the less,EPIC... Also the down force might have been a factor to the tire as the body is showing tire wear.
