You need to reduce drag. The antenna could be incorporated into the vertical stabilizers, making one less drag surface. Also, the body mounts and clips could be inverted so the towers and clips are upside down and behind the wheels, making four fewer drag surfaces. Finally, airplanes have cowls on their wheels for a reason. Extend the skirt of the body to encompass the rear wheels and taper it towards the rear (you could, with sufficient planning, cowl the steering wheels, but probably won't). Those changes will give you a total of seven drag reductions. Best of luck!

Absolutely. Every little thing. Painting B-17’s in World War II made them faster because it filled in gaps at the rivets & seams. They just didn’t paint them so they could get them off the production line faster, which is what really mattered at the time.

Im also thinking about the aesthetic of the body. The fake cockpit and all those louvers and such. Perhaps a completely featureless and streamlined body would do wonders.

just a thought Raz, you said its always the front right tyre blowing out, thats the same side the servo is on, maybe try a dual servo setup on steering to better balance steering at high speed. everything is equally balanced front to back of the car except the steering servo!

Raz Have you thought about bringing 2 ladders and a board to stand up high that way you can get a longer run and see the car better? I see all the guys going for the record either standing on a ladder or the bed of a big truck to get a height advantage so they can get a longer run-up. When we race the driver's stands are up real high so we can see the corners of the track. You should try it. Might be that extra edge you need to break 200+ mph.

Aircraft style running lights so you know which way it's pointed may help as well. A buddy used to paint his high speed planes in odd blocks of colors so he could tell the planes orientation at distance. Not pretty, but he found it effective.

Roof rack on any vehicle would suffice.
@SeanReevesD

@@donaldrieger381 trying to keep weight down might be the issue. However, putting high-vis reflective tape (different reflective frequencies for front and back) and shining high-output lights down the track would serve the the same purpose adding only a few grams to the build.

I have a little question. Why not build yourself a little stand, that you could be like 1m up, or more, when driving. You've have slightly better view on the car, and us viewers would also see a bit better as the car is approaching. Theres a reason races are also usually from a drivers stand, as it helps with seeing the car. Obviously I've never ran a speed-run, but just a thought. :) Anyway, love the videos as always.

I love watching these vids, your attention to detail and quality of build is an artform all by itself. I have no idea if this is even possible or not, but is there a way to gather additional telemetry on your high-speed runs? I appreciate there are probably very few telemetry sensors available for RC vehicles but I feel if anyone can make it happen, Raz can! It would be really interesting to understand more about the forces exerted on a scale model at these speeds, and I for one would love to understand more about the physics involved.
