Nice to finally see a review from an experienced printer. I've seen too many videos by people who don't know how to run a laser or spread ink on a screen. XTool now has frames and screens for sale on their website. They claim their screens can be stripped and recoated with regular emulsion and reburned with the laser. One can always stay busy with other tasks during a long laser run. Single screen prints that don't need registration can be removed from the screens to make fewer frames necessary.
@en2oh7 ай бұрын
You’ve answered my question about fiber mesh emulsion. I wondered if the emulsion was essentially regular silk screen emulsion but without the sensitizer. No reason why you couldn’t use finer mesh screens. Might be a bit fiddly but once you got it, shouldn’t be problem. Hand you tried to expose a regular screen emulsion with the laser. Not sure if the correct screen is more resilient than typical silk. You could also speed things up, if you wish by using a stronger (more powerful) laser so you can increase the scanning rate. A very large image could take longer than the traditional approach. Lot of potential here!
@MatthewBasaraba6 ай бұрын
@@en2oh Now this has me interested also. I have 3 large Co2 lasers and if they could be used to make the designs onto the screens instead of the inkjet printer and curing etc that would be fantastic. Seems that the curing would need to be done before a design was put on then the laser burns out the emulsion? Wonder about the effect on the screen fibers though. I dont have THIS screen printing equipment, and we are just starting out, but using a laser for our designs would be amazing.

You can honestly cut almost everything with the laser (well to a point) but the question would be if the chemical on the regular screen would pose a threat when exposed to the laser..

Cool honest opinion! I just saw an ad for the product and was curious about what it did so I watched your setup and final comments. Now I'm intrigued.
