they didn't use the photo tachometer right. because the fidget spinner has gaps, you need to divide the RPM by the surfaces (3) since it's measuring the plastic in contrast to the dark background. so the actual speed is about 8000 rpm, which matches what other people have gotten.

Wait, if the fidget spinner fell apart in the water jet at 15,000, but the air one went 25,000 in your hand, maybe the air cushion is more gentle for accelerating? We should see the air on high speed, see how fast it gets up to.
@ZeroStrife13963 ай бұрын
My guess is since water has a lot more mass than air, every time one of the arms gets hit by it, it imparts a lot more energy, which would bend and stress the plastic at the weak points because of inertia.
@tasticfan42863 ай бұрын
I think it was an incorrect reading from the measuring device. It probably recognized each bearing as a revolution. If that theory is true, then it's probably going more like ~6,600rpm.
@Ranoake20 күн бұрын
I was just looking for this. They all probably 'exploded' earlier than the would have had it not bee water driving them. If you have it attached to a drill for example, that would be a more realistic measure of when the centrifuigal force makes it explode. Otherwise the pressure of the water needs to be added.
