Sick so it's stock motor. I'm thinking of buying a Maxx from a guy in town that supposably has switched out all the electronics from an Xmaxx i.e. motor, each and batteries all from an X-MAXX so all the big boy 8s fun in the little Maxx packaging and with the little Maxx pricing I'm excited but I haven't pulled the trigger yet cuz I'm a bit weary of the whole deal I don't know why

Yes stock motor wires directly into the Mamba Monster X 8s ESC. I'm using SMC 6400 Extreme V2 Graphenes 150c batteries. Probably the best batteries you can get for speed runs. I get about a 6 volt dip on 8s. 32 to 26v

Hows the motor holding up after running 8s?

It's high voltage is allowing the motor to run less current. Less current, less heat. Less heat, longer motor life. The motors are built fairly tough, it's the ESC where you can damage components. Why he is running a Mamba X ESC. That's where the secret sauce is kept, in conjunction with pinion and spur combinations to get where you want to be.

@@motortoys9942 Heat and RPM kills motors. As long as you're not near max RPMs and motor temp in 160s you'll be fine.

Yes stock diffs, but I’m not launching it hard, i’m easing into full throttle. My other video I got it up to 101mph and stopped there. There’s probably still more room possibly a 120+ setup.

@@10krms54 I only do 1 pass at a time when on 8s and let it cool for like 5 minutes before doing another run. It's about 130 degrees after 1 15 second run.

Alot of traxxas motors (not ESC) can handle being over voted by 2s ish. So 6 can go 8( at your own risk it can still fry stuff) 4 can go 6 or 8 if you really like to live in the edge lol. They CAN do it but I wouldn't unless you know how to manage thermals well, or are aware of your risks. Also you can do this with ARRMA motors to same risk, most of my experience is on traxxas and I have an 8s powered EDF thurst powered truck it can only go half throttle unless it's 20 degrees outside cuznit likes to explode

@@Rawnchy1 used 6mm bore 42t gear. Grinded a flat spot on shaft. Raise motor a tiny bit by putting washers so pinion won't rub. Also ran without gear cover

What gearing was on that Maxx? In the manual it mentions you can mesh gears manually without the Pin you may be able to fit slightly bigger pinions. Try it out

Gearing is always top secret it's a lot of testing Most people start with Moving up 1 or 2 teeth on the pinion gear And go from there

I bought road tires and I'm looking for either a good wheelie bar to keep it from lifting of something to weigh down the front ...I just want an esc that wont fail ..traxxas blew the fuse and fried , hobbywing caught on fire ...and they're usually dependable ..Mamba monster X 2 might he a bit much but I can always use it on future builds too ..I have a team corally revoc pro 160 sitting here but never used 1 before
