Legendary Stone Striker katana for the win on this one! By far my favorite katana in the game. Stylish and high damage when used right plus the ability to repel enemies momentarily on the kill. This run was quite tough. Took me a handful of tries. Thought this up and stated trying last week on B&S and got so close to a win on that map with a hit taken on W15. 😭 Nonetheless, made it happen here at Aoi.
Recently had a casual conversation with some players and we were debating the stone striker vs. MMC. Seems some compare the stone striker to be on par with MMC. When it comes to damage, stone stance is close to MMC, but still MMC leads in DPS. If you can MMC and like to by all means go for it. Some things to consider though when comparing the 2 as damage isnt everything. Id argue MMC is considerably better than the stone striker for a few reasons:
1. Equipping stone striker costs you a legendary slot, MMC does not. This allows players choosing MMC to have room to significantly improve their build by using additional techniques instead of a legendary or it makes room for another legendary where you wouldn’t have that extra legendary option wih stone striker.
2. Resolve: MMC is definitely the fastest way to build resolve with melee attacks due to its speed and ability to hit multiple enemies at once. While MMC constantly gains resolve we must recall that the stone striker loses/takes resolve.
3. Staggering: the stone striker is really only worth it to use heavenly strike when we stagger enemies before doing the HS attack. MMC staggers enemies far faster than the stone striker, gives more consistent, high damage and provides the player with a better safety buffer since it pretty much stun locks most enemies so quickly. So executing that high damage of a staggered HS comparable to MMC takes more effort with stone striker.
4. Kill animations: when killing enemies with MMC there is no kill animation to wait out. A player can immediately jump right into MMC’ing the next enemy. However, with stone striker killing with light or heavy attacks locks the player into a kill animation which costs you time and if killing with HS the animation is even longer. This makes MMC a better option for speed.
5. Attacking in vanish: MMC allows the player to do this. Stone striker and all other katanas do not.
Just some thoughts i wanted to share. So what do you guys think? Would you say MMC is on par with stone striker? Genuinely curious. Thanks for watching. Enjoy the weekend Ghosts and Legends!
