Hello! Thank you for the message. The video you are referencing is a TAS which means "tool assisted speedrun". Basically, the game is loaded into an emulator, and the TAS editor advances the game frame by frame and manually selects the desired input. Then, once all desired inputs are in place for the entirety of the speedrun, the "demo" is played back in real-time to achieve the results you saw from the referenced video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpy2gGqjpblsjbs You can learn more about TAS tools and the process here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tool-assisted_speedrun Hope you have a great day! :)

Well done, I remember playing this game for hours on end once when I rented it. I managed to get to the final stage, and always died quickly. I liked that little trick there where you get two guys to follow you and nobody is in front of you.

I assume only 2 enemies can be on screen at once on last level so keep those 2 behind you and none will be in front ? GG WP

Man, you speed runners make it look so easy! I remember renting this from the local video store and spent the entire weekend playing it and couldn't beat it! One of the few games I couldn't beat on the NES. Great job!

I'm kind of saddened that they didn't even give the last guy you fight in the karate tournament blonde hair so that he would at least sort of resemble Johnny Lawrence

If I had to guess the spear enemies are super oppressive and can kill you extremely fast. Especially on the stairs.

why is it kung fu can get like 4 guys on screen but this and double dragon only got 2 guys.
@JamEvil3 жыл бұрын
The maximum number of enemies on the screen in this game is 4. There can be two normal enemies and up to two hazards on screen at any given time. During the monsoon you can see sticks and birds flying on screen constantly and two normal enemies. On the final stage there are two normal enemies and then rocks that spawn every so often. The biggest reason there you only see two normal enemies is that they use 4 sprites each. Daniel also uses 4 sprites so there are 12 sprites on screen already. The additional hazards bring that total up to 14 sprites on screen and that is the upward limit of the NES hardware. Hope this helps.
