I don't know why but i feel like this "Cons don't fool us because we're stupid, they fool us because we're human. This might be the World's Greatest Con." just give me Bioshock vibes with how it is repeated over and over, anyways I love it lol

I generally don't listen to podcasts, but I adore this. The story telling and spacing for suspense is splendid.

This is a great story that I've heard told a few times. This is one of my favorite renditions. So far, its engaging and funny and keeps me listening. It is well done. You guys are awesome. There is one thing that keeps fooling me, though. Maybe it is supposed to. The two taglines "cons don't fool us because we're stupid, they fool us because we're human" is immediately followed by "This just might be the world's greatest con". That bit happens twice in the intro and every time i hear it the second time I look down at my phone thinking the thing started over for some reason. Did I hit the skip button by accident and start the whole thing over? Oh, no, wait, they just say it twice for some reason. It's gotten me all three episodes. If that's the intention, well done. Ya got me.

So I looked up Glyndwr Michael's grave after the story of his life made me cry, and learned that apparently Montagu and Cholmondeley (absolutely not how I expected those names to be spelled but okay), despite resolving to never reveal Glyndwr Michael's true identity even after the war, apparently they slipped a little reference to it in Bill Martin's backstory- Bill's father is named John Glyndwr Martin.
@thegardenofeatin59653 жыл бұрын
Yeah, from Bryan's pronunciation, it should be Glendower, Montague and Chumbly.

For any audiophiles out there, is there a reason the left channel consistently peaks more than the right? Or am I overthinking this, and it's a mono-source converted to stereo? Just curious. Epic series, BB really is an excellent story teller.

i can't wait for someone to take all of the episodes, remove all the ''cons don't fool us /c we're stupid..'', remove the long stretches of time where it's just music b/c someone thought it would be funny to waste the audiences time by including empty parts where there is no dialog, and cuts every episode into a single hour take with all of brians interesting tid bits and tangents, as well as the actual story.
@JD2jr.3 жыл бұрын
Didn't want to say anything, but... yeah. I listen at about 3x speed, so it doesn't bother me too much, but... it's kinda like those youtube videos that have random clips of the video at the start because of the algorithm. I'm already invested, I don't need extra fluff.
@lautimartinez63413 жыл бұрын
i mean, this is neat but when we the fans asked for a podcast, i don't think this is what we had in mind. I think that an unedited video of Brian and Jason just chatting and geeking about pop culture and nerdy stuff would be a lot more interesting than a prerecorder and over edited Brian monologue about a random story.

Not sure why a podcast like every other podcast (just 2 dudes talking about regular shit) is more interesting to you than this incredible storytelling. Theres 100s of shows out there of people shooting the shit. This is genuine quality content.
@teamcybr83753 жыл бұрын
We have two episodes of that. And they're good because they aren't forced to do it. This is a completely separate, unrelated thing.
@JD2jr.3 жыл бұрын
@@RATCONQUESO because we're fans of their personalities, and they mesh well together. I definitely don't want to shit on this to suggest the other, but this is more a really interesting story broken into pieces than a "podcast" It's great, but not what people are expecting when it's described as such.
@stenmin12343 жыл бұрын
Just because you only listen to certain kinds of podcasts doesn't mean other styles aren't extremely prevalent. It is more scripted than unscripted, but it's a podcast none the less. There are thousands of podcasts which are at the core, scripted stories.
