I worked in Jeddah region for 28 years, arrived finally in 2019, made many journeys across from jeddah to Dammam and to Dubai upto Omanese border on road. Camels are said to even cross steel wiring done to prevent incursions into the highway because its long legs, the saudi government have constructed bridges neant to be used by camels to cross over the highways to get into their grazing grounds.
