World's Most Disturbing Man-Made Ecological Disaster - Aral Sea, Karakalpakstan Autonomous Republic of Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 The Aral Sea, located in Central Asia, was once the fourth-largest lake in the world. However, due to decades of human intervention in the form of diverting its feeder rivers for irrigation, the sea has shrunk to a fraction of its original size, leaving behind a desolate landscape of dry, salty seabed. This man-made ecological disaster has had devastating consequences for the region's environment and the people who depended on the sea for their livelihoods. The shrinking of the Aral Sea has resulted in the exposure of toxic chemicals and pesticides that were once submerged in its waters, leading to widespread health problems for the local population. The loss of the sea has also significantly impacted the climate and biodiversity of the region, disrupting local ecosystems and causing the decline of once-thriving fishing communities. Efforts have been made to mitigate the damage, such as the construction of dams and reservoirs to improve water management, but the situation remains a stark reminder of the consequences of unsustainable human activity on the environment.

Hi Mr Davud. I am a Buddhist monk from Srilanka. I had some study about Aral Sea recently. According to my point of view the disaster of Aral Sea was happened because of the craving of rich countries. They did cotton farming for the fashion industry. Today the fast fashion industry is the second biggest polluter in the world. If you can go and study about the landfills in Ghana will be very important not only that you will be able to open the eyes of the people how the bad effect of the fast fashion industry.

Buddhism and all of the other false religions will land you in HELL Kumar I assure you. Satan has deceived you. I tell you this with love and conviction. 1 John 4:1-3 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world….Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Thessalonians 2:3 to let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day (the day of the Lord’s return) will not come unless the falling away comes first. Repent and give your life to jesus as your religion is leading you to eternal destruction.

I knew about the Aral Sea for many years, but not about Karakulpakstan. The story of this sea is a morality tale that should resonate with these times when we are recklessly carrying on with very destructive behaviours with people in denial of man made environmental disasters. Very rarely made by the local people, but by policies that get out of hand. Thanks for bringing us this content. Edited to say, the hat really looks good!

Actually, Aral Sea is split now between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan as a result of drying up. The good news is: Kazakh side of Aral Sea is replenishing again thanks to a dam which was built by Kazakhstan. it is expected to restore at least on the Kazakh side.

I am Uzbek, and seeing almost dried Aral Sea is sad. I wish it would not dry and people would try to do some jobs around the sea so they can live better than they do now. It doesn't seem easy to live in this area. We need to be grateful for what we have.

I'm from Karakalpakstan. Our ancestors used to live along the banks of the Aral Sea and fishing, there was a lot of fish here before, but now everyone has left there. Uzbekistan's cotton policy caused the disappearance of the Aral Sea. Two huge rivers were diverted to cotton plantations, so the water no longer entered the Aral Sea. It's a pity that we lost such a wonderful sea. Now there is only salt and sand. Usually this salt and sand fly 200 km and end up in cities, so sometimes it’s impossible to breathe the air here. If you are interested in Karakalpakstan, then write, I will answer everyone
