The regulation here in the US probly would not allow a storage facility with a 100 percent N2 atmosphere. Until retiring I was a cryogenic engineer responsible for N2 and O2 production government regulation is nuts . The infrastructure of this building is incredibly robust. These systems are some of the best I’ve ever seen.

Hi Mark, do you know if having the cars in a nitrogen store could also reduce the rate of rust on ferrous metal parts?
@rockymountainbuilds11 ай бұрын
i would assume so. oxygen reacts with iron in the metal with moisture to form rust. no oxygen = no rust i would think. absolute insanity@@philtucker1224
@derxer61411 ай бұрын
well of course, rust is oxidation which means it needs oxygen and water. If there is no oxygen or a low content (idk if their room is a mix or pure nitrogen) and they regulate the humidity of the air, there will be no rust @@philtucker1224
@jimmyc726911 ай бұрын
@@philtucker1224 rust comes from oxidation. No oxygen from air or moisture = no rust. There probably is still a small amount, but I imagine it is greatly reduced compared to even a normal controlled environment.
