Well that depends, first of all you have to cleanse your skin before and after you put on makeup. Secondly before putting your make up you have to prime your face so that you create a layer between the makeup and your acctual skin. Third off all you need to try and look for makeup that will work for your skin, if you are using those more on a cheap side chances are it's going to worsen your acne. Spend more money on foundation and prmer than on anything else.

I think you'll have better luck if you use less product. Start with a pea sized amount for the whole face, then add a tiny bit more where you feel needed. The thinner the layer, the better it will wear. I have super oily skin so it doesn't last all day on me but I'm sure less product on dry skin with powder will hold up better. Also, if you plan on buying this, note that the shade selection is not yellow-undertone friendly. I love it but I've had to return it each time I bought it bc almost every shade is too pink or too dark for my light complexion
