Mammoet's PTC 200-DS has the same 5000 tons lifting capacity but it was built earlier than Sarens one. So it should really be mammoet in this video instead of Sarens

It's insane how; the Big Blue crane that collapsed was the biggest crane in the world at the time was rated at 500 tons...Now that Sarens lifts TEN TIMES that weight!
@robbieoorschot68163 жыл бұрын
In the time of the "Big Blue" Demag has already a 3000 metric ton crawler crane the Demag CC12000 !!! And iff the customers of Mammoet order a stronger, biger crane they run out Sarens with big eas, MSG or PTC wil do the job very well !!
@godbluffvdgg3 жыл бұрын
@@robbieoorschot6816 Give me a link showing that; and I'll agree. I'm just going by what the news reports and documentaries said...I did some searching for the Demag cc1200 I couldn't find anything about when it was made...Maybe Big Blue was the biggest crawler crane in the U.S at the time...

@@godbluffvdgg No Demag CC12000, from Deca Lift in Italy!! By time Big Blue colapsd at the construction of Miller Park Stadium, Demag had already a bigger crawler crane namely the CC12600 that was oprated by van Seumeren and juicd to compled the construction of the stadium!!

When they say Big Blue was rated 500 tons it means with the specific boom that was on the crane that day and the jib that was on the crane that day with the lifting angles and reach as configured that day. With other configurations Big Blue could lift 1500 tons. A salesman who tells you his crane can lift 500 tons to 400 ft. may tell you his crane is the biggest another salesman who says his crane can lift 1000 tons to 250 ft. will tell you his is the biggest. "Biggest crane in the world" is just a sales pitch.
