Hot tip here - the Wiha double-ended bits are PERFECT in this ratchet. They seat perfectly because the other end of the bit can project through the center of the bit holder.

YES! Though some of the slotted (larger sizes) don't go through. It also accepts Leatherman bits

Going to have to make another video showing it's full capabilities

Do they sit correctly in the shaft end? I have been trying to get this answer for ages, but all the videos I've found have them in the circular end only. I hope you can answer my question!

Love these sorts of things I just don't understand why nobody seems to give them knurling like the Leatherman Extension (either these stubby ones or the longer ones like prestacycle)

Very cool. I have the ICON mini bit ratchet and I use it almost exclusively on my motorcycles, as a ratchet or a T-handle. In fact, I almost never use anything else, unless I am dealing with the axle bolts for chain adjustments or tire repair. I didn't even know there was a driver this short on the market. I will definitely pick one of these up and try it out. Thanks!

So many people have told me about it, I'm picking it up this coming week and giving it a detailed review! This specific one is SUPER small. The cool thing is that it's a beast too, can withstand a good amount of torque, and can be easily extended if needed. Thanks for watching, make sure you sub for that ICON review, and more!

Hey Aircraft Tech... I was using some old safety wire twisty pliers today, to secure some handle grips on my motorcycle. I know, most folks use grip glue or hair spray, but the safety wire trick was taught to me 40+ years ago and old habits die hard. Anyway, it made me think of your channel and the likelihood that you must have specialty tools for adding safety wire to bolts all around an aircraft. Personally, I would love to see the different and unique tools available for this AND I would love to see the different types and styles of wire and braids used. Even a video of the different techniques would be awesome. Thanks!

Matthew! Thanks for thinking of the channel. Yes, we use a few specialized tools here and I'd love to make a video on safety wire pliers alone! I have a video drop tonight for another tool, and then a few more coming, but believe me, safety wire pliers are in the near future for sure! I appreciate your support and input, and thanks for subscribing.

Hey Matt, i was going to tell you, the night after reading your comment i had to do the RnR for some fire bottle elements (water adsorption filters), and they are in a tight spot. Anyway, had to safety wire them, and it just reminded me of you since i had to fiddle around with the safety wire pliers in order to get them done. Ok have a great day!

I use the handle as storage for a 1/4" drive hex bit.

Sort of looks like the little Leatherman version of the ratchet, but with a full diameter handle. Great find!

That's it exactly, it's the same.comoany that makes the ratchet that fits into the Leatherman bit holders. This system is actually smaller, and let's you expand so easily. Its in my pocket everywhere I go.

Coupled with a hex bit extender and bits, its perfect for EDC

I use a ratchet that looks pretty much the same at work but is 10 cm /4 inch long. I think when it comes to making this one its the same just taking out the middle part. I think that this might be too short for use as you can bearly grip it a 60mm extension would be good for leverage but it mostly defeats the goal of carring such short ratchet, unless you just want 2 short parts to carry

I have a video on different bit drivers, and there are several examples of the one you are talking about (Topeak, PrestaCycle, even Icon if you include a flexhead). The appeal of this one is portability and modularity. It is basically a finger ratchet, can make a short ratchet when combined to a handle, or be extended to fit a desired length. This company makes a ratchet that is designed to fit into Leatherman bit holders, and it's almost the same size. Theoretically you could say this one functions in the same manner, but for multitools other than the Leatherman.

@@TheAircraftTechnician ive seen that video, and after watching it i wanted to buy that PrestaCycke one (alredy have Tpeak) bu i think i will get one that is similar to the Icon as im not in US and cant get the Icon but i can get one from Facom. And i like that idea at the end to make it a ratchet for multitools

About $20 more than the ICON, but definitely worth it if you cant get the harbor freight kind

Does it work with wiha dualbits ? or leathermans?
@TheAircraftTechnician Жыл бұрын
This is the company that makes the Leatherman bit ratchet, and this one also accepts (and retains) Leatherman bits. Reversible bits (if that's what you mean) do not lock-in, unless you insert the Phillips side, then the ratchet locks it in place and the slotted side can be used
