What about the fusion 480 smart super combo kit?
@ant-man11313 жыл бұрын
@@sawyerheslep8493 totally different ball game. The 480 can be tamed to fly as docile as the 230s..... actually it might even be more docile, but you have to factor in the "Intimidation" of flying alot bigger heli and then there's the cost factor. The basic combo is a little over $150 more dollars and like it says, basic. No electronics at all. Don't let me scared you away from it because it truly is a well built heli and it's performance is pretty much unlimited!

Me and my wife have been watching the channel and have become obsessed with RC! Our son is about 2 1/2 and has his own little crawler he pushes around... surprised it's not broken yet. TLDR we've got an RC family now and we absolutely love and support the content. I just got a Mojave for myself, and my wife is picking out her first Air vehicle this week. Keep up the great work guys!

Very nice! I love RC helicopter content. I am into RC helis only myself. I have very good memories of the 230S, I had the original v1 when it came out some time ago. It was the very first helicopter I attempted a flip (which, by the way, went horribly wrong) but I managed to use Rescue to save the helicopter (actually the switch labeled with the Safe logo might be Rescue and not low/high rates, which would explain why it doesn't seem to do anything if you are on a controlled upright hover). That moment gave me the confidence to try it again and continue to progress. I really enjoyed that little heli it was really good at crashing, and very inexpensive to fix. I once slammed it against a chain link fence because I was flying at a little baseball diamond on a public park and the main blades didn't even break. I eventually moved out of Blade helis into "kit" helis and I have enjoyed every step. But every time someone asks me where to start with RC helis I always refer them to the Blade 230S. Just had one small comment on what you said on the video. The left stick up/down on RC helis is not Throttle, it is really Collective. The difference is that Throttle is always down to kill the motor and up to increase power to the motor. On helis, when you are flying upside down, that gets reversed, unlike airplanes. Other than that, great content love the excitement and that is feels really authentic. Keep it up and cheers :) Oh and shameless plug listen to Skids Up podcast and take a peek at my YT channel hehe

This was the heli that got me back into RC helicopters after being a beginner-level heli guy a long time ago. The 230S is the perfect combination of large enough to be controllable for a beginner and small and affordable enough for a newcomer. Love this bird!

I'm with you Chandler. I just got back into RC after a 13+ year hiatus (life got in the way) and started with an Apprentice RTF plane. Flew that by myself with no issues. Picked up a NX10, S2100 charger and a UMX Timber that I flew in breezes today. I messed around with helis 15+ years ago, but beyond hovering and some FF, never got too far. I think this is the heli for me!

Prop wash is actually the effect of air from the propeller following behind an airplane. Helicopters do not have props they have blades and when the helicopter gets close to the ground and it gets tricky to hover this is simply called ground effect. The kill throttle safety feature is actually for doing autorotation landings! Cheers

The faulty Self levelling mode on my 230s, terrorised my mental thought patterns into almost the Give-up mode. so after several crashes, I repaired it, boxed it up, and shelved it for over 6 months whilst I learnt to fly better on my smaller Nano S3, 150s and 180 Infusion. Now - I can fly the 230s without any SAFE or self levelling mode active ! - A great helicopter to fly now.

Great first collective-pitch helicopter, if you get one that is good out of the box. My first one I bought in February had a nasty habit of going where it wanted to, regardless of my stick input! I thought it was my mistake, so I rebuilt it twice. With the blades off I then spooled it up on my workbench, and guess what? It moved the swash plate randomly with no input. No significant vibration to throw off the stabilization. Horizon Hobby reluctantly replaced it, and the new one flies beautifully! Thanks HH ! You did what was right! (PS- been flying fixed-pitch micro helicopters for 17 years) Thanks also for what you and Abby do!

Nate, try inverted maneuvers on the simulator first and develop some muscle memory for each maneuver. When finally trying with the heli, fly over the grass until you get proficient. It won't save the heli if you go down but will minimize the damage. Take it from someone who has spent hundreds on heli rebuilds.

I picked up the BNF version a couple of months back. One caveat on it, is that the IC-2 to IC-3 adapter, which is not included with the BNF version, has been difficult to get. I ordered mine way back in early April, and it finally arrived last week. Fortunately, being a professional electronics technician, I put together my own temporary adapter so I could charge the battery and actually do stuff with the heli. So far, my flight experience with it has been just learning how to hover. The sound on the video, however, doesn't come near how cool it sounds in person.

8:22. It is called rotor wash. My instructor told me imagine it as flushing a toilet except with air. You essentually "flush" the air out from under it which is the air that it uses to maintain altitude. Less dense air makes it harder to stay afloat. Same concept as trying to breath at the top of Mount Everest.

Don't worry about stunts, learn to fly without the auto level. I learned with auto level on my drones. Then the SIM, then acro drones, then acro heli.
