The pig clip hits so well because of how effortless and almost nonchalantly you flip it, combined with the stronger than average Joe's response to it. Honestly, that yoke run in this video has very similar potential

Random fact for the algorithm: The pig, often called swine, hog, or domestic pig when distinguishing from other members of the genus Sus, is an omnivorous, domesticated, even-toed, hoofed mammal. It is variously considered a subspecies of Sus scrofa or a distinct species.

I love that WSM is also world's strongest crossfitter. I think the clip blew up because you have the crossfit goat being amazed and he doesn't get stunned like that often. seeing a decently heavy weight and seeing the fittest people on earth be stunned at how easily you move it generates that kind of reaction in others. just like the yoke run with 120kg in this video lmao

@Therighthanddon Жыл бұрын
I think the pig flip from you is so popular because elite cross fitters struggle slightly to get themselves to lift off the ground and even more when they get it half way. Whereas you have just flipped it: 1)without even having to dip to catch it and use your legs 2)with such speed 3)without even breaking a sweat 😅
@hulkthedane7542 Жыл бұрын
Mitch, the popularity of the pig flip clip stems from awe - people, who have tried tire flip or pig flip know, how hard that exercise is.... and you make it look easy. Try doing 8 - 10 flips in a row and you have heavy cardio. 👍👍👍
@Maim133 Жыл бұрын
Everyone who does crossfit watches Mat Fraser and the rest of the elites do amazing feats of strength and workout with weights we can't deadlift. It's entertaining to see them amazed by a specialist like Klokov doing thrusters at 200KG or Brian Shaw breaking rowing records or You flipping the 660lb pig, which is a considerably roadblock for them in competition.

Totally. Just rewatched the 2015 games introduction of the pig. Some people couldn't do 1 rep. Even in recent years it's been a really hard event at the Games. Fraser knows the challenge of the Pig so the video did so well because Mitch just tosses it like a warmup and Fraser's face says it all. Let's see Mitch do the Bob push hahaha

One thing/exercise, I do not understand why they do in CF - the hand walk. Never will you ever end up in a real life situation, where being able to walk on your hands will save your life. The muscles involved are not supposed to work like that that, and it cannot be good for your wrists. I think, that us showmanship. In strongman, I miss seeing tire flip. I understand, it is to avoid bicepd injuries, which is important. I have seen biceps tears happen in flips, and always with the athlete using a narrow grip. I just happen to have done hundreds of relatively heavy tire flips in my younger days, and by utilizing a broad grip ie. the right technique, you can avoid those tears. The tire flip performed as an "uphill" push and not as a curl and a push does not strain the biceps as much .... so if you teach the strongmen appropriate technique, that event could be in the large competitions again. I would LOVE to see that. 👍👍👍

I think people without experience doing something like the pig or a tire flip don’t understand the weight, so they see 660lbs and assume you’re throwing that whole weight in the air. Still an impressive feat, but it’s not 660lbs in-hand
