World Series Baseball 2K1 (Sega Dreamcast) Gameplay

I hate this game 2k just stick to basketball and football

Graphics and music were pretty good for this game during the time it came out. I feel like the gameplay hasn't held up well (MLB Slugfest is way better IMO) but every once in a while, I'll find myself returning to play this game probably for Nostalgia reasons.

The one thing I fondly remember about this game was the hitting controls. I remember you needed to pull the trigger before the pitch came and you'd let go of it to swing. The faster you let go of the trigger the harder the swing was. I thought it was a great idea and it felt really natural once you get used to it. I wish today's baseball games would off the same control scheme.

Hahahhaha memories with this game... When I was a child I threw the control to the floor when I loose or I was loosing the game (I regret) but I enjoyed the game no matter if I win or lose the match

the animations and camera angles are really good. Sound effects not so much. People need to remember the effect these new gen games had at the time.

I actually liked this game, the funny thing is it got soo much negative reviews but future baseball games emulated alot of this game and even 2K2

This brought back so many memories, good and bad. I miss the way the teams were picked like in 3:13 and the National Anthem prior to the start of the game.

They just need to get rid of the auto fielding. Turns out visual concepts did a great job with basketball and football but the baseball got worse when they took it over.

Every single batting animation and pitching animation. It is still today one of the best games I’ve ever played auto fielding is forgivable because of the outstanding mechanics

You hate this because you not very good at it , i understand . Learn controls for fielding and repost , you are not doing justice to the game .

If I remember correctly, this game didn't even have manual fielding as an option. Still a fun game though.

Yeah, they're not "pre-loading" the fielding... (In this game you had to press which base you wanted to throw to _before_ the fielder scoops it up/catches it and only then would you get a smooth animation. They're clearly waiting until _after_ the fielder has gotten the ball before attempting to execute the play)
