I was slow in appreciating Scott's commentary. I was a little frustrated in not hearing the great announcer who also announced at the 2023 World Sumo Championships. Also, I was disappointed we didn't have the names on the screen like in 2023. But this was all saved by the commentary and lively chat. Thank you.

Not trying to objectify, but sumo women are hot. Brave, strong, agile. So badass.

Thanks for the stream, man. Have a well-deserved beer on me 😄 Edit: the money I sent over superchat and thanks is in lieu of your patreon going active; will join that as soon as you get it done, brother 😁

@@worldofsumo Scott, you’re absolutely welcome. Thanks for going through the heat for us so we had brilliant commentary to listen to. Honestly man, you have a natural talent for it. I dunno if you enjoyed it (only at the beginning of the second day’s stream) but if you did, you could do anything. Like, I would put your CV in with NHK for one of the sumo highlights spots because you’re at least as good as them (and a zillion times better than Ross). On the subject of support, though, I don’t subscribe to anyone’s patreon and really don’t feel the need to, but I will for your channel dude. It’s awesome and with all the stuff you’ve had going on the last few months, anything you manage to upload is very much appreciated. Keep up the outstanding work, man 👍

Sir you have made my day, week and month! I can’t tell you how the support your showing me means and how you and everyones kind words are giving me such fire to push harder Despite the heat I absolutely loved it I will start getting more videos out from next week my friend I actually miss it and can’t wait to start rattling some good sumo vids up for you and the other supporters of wos

@@worldofsumo awesome, man, that’s amazing to hear, Scott! Keep on pushing, keep putting yourself out there, you’re very much appreciated in our little community (I can only talk from a fan’s standpoint here but I can tell you have lots of friends around the sport as you were saying hello to people all throughout, which is great!) Maybe take a week off and REST, dude! It’s been a heck of a time for you recently, hasn’t it? Maybe a well deserved chill would do you good - you can always brainstorm about video ideas while you’re at it, that’s not too strenuous I think? Anyway, you’ll always have my support, mate, and there’s nothing you need to do in order to keep it, just do you, man, if it means less videos for you to enjoy making each one, then do that! Enjoy yourself and try not to let the KZbin art of what you do become tedious and boring by forcing yourself to make more videos than what you’re inspired to make. I can only talk on my own behalf, but I’ll always zoom right over as soon as I see you’ve uploaded, no matter how long it’s been since the last one. I think we’re a pretty great community, the sumo community, aren’t we? So I think most of us just want to see you do well for yourself, be happy and successful with your coaching and maybe commentating now(!), and we’d be happy with the odd news video or whatever you want to do _when you have the time and motivation to put one together_ That’s all 👍 Anyway, I’m talking your ear off, brother, sorry about that. I hope you manage to get some relaxation if that’s what you want/need, and things continue to be awesome for you, mate. Congrats again on your student, that’s huge! HUGE! AMAZING! Also it was pretty huge and amazing that you got to do comms on the world champs for the U18 and can’t wait for the adults. Did you say you were gonna do that one, too?

The numerous false starts appear to be attributed to the gyojis saying something before hakkeyoi. Every gyoji had different timings on the ready go part of it. I would imgaine if they just went from hands on the ground to only saying hakkeyoi it would help reduce false starts due to misunderstanding of audio cues
