These towers were so overlooked. I dont think many people realized what engenering marvells they were, I remember one song said "dont it always seem to go that you dont know what you've got till its gone" it reminds me of the world trade center. Never forget all those who died

These were incredible buildings, i always love the two big ghosts in the skyline, they completed the whole look of manhattan! It's still hard to imagine that a few floors out, force this building to collapse! A specially as they still stand so strong after the impacts, something was wrong on this day! :(

I was born in 79 & grew up in the 80's & 90's I can tell you it was a more simpler time, yes we all had our ups & downs but not like it is today after 911.....im from Canada & I remember being in N.Y back in '89 when my mom was pregnant with my younger brother. I remember visiting the empire state building and seeing the twins in the distance that was pretty cool, but being at the WTC im sure we visited them but for the life of me I can't remember

I know the freedom tower is impresive. But the twin towers were very imponent and higher buildings. They no could be being rebuild, were unic. We miss them!!

ElTortugaAnime ElTortugaAnime The original WTC 1 was 417m tall (the antenna didn't count it wasn't considered a permanent structure). Freedom tower's top floor is of a similar height, but it has a spire (which is permanent) making it 541m tall

@@Luke_092 in my opinion it doesnt change the fact that it happened. looking at the graves of the twin towers will remind you, being at ground zero will remind you, videos on you-tube will remind you, the new tower reminds you aswell what was used to be there before. you cant change it, whatever you do there. you will always be remind, whatever they did with the place. but it would be a stronger message in my opinion if they rebuild it 1:1 and be like: did something happened? ah yes but we decide when we change something, look they are back and we improved them inside, what you are gonna do now?

to a New Yorker the WTC was SO many different things. A sign post, for one, like in the country where people say turn left at the red barn up yonder ... Well in Manhattan, after coming out eh, "disoriented" from a bar, all you had to do was look up, and see the towers and get your bearings again.

@SkylinesHD, we are. They are building a memorial, and in the footprints, waterfalls with the names of every victim engraved in bronze. and a 1776 ft tower, and several other things. its going to be beautiful, and they are making the core and all as safe as possible

@FuckingStanz America's skyline is not the same without them. I've seen them in person (not right up close) when visiting Manhattan in the early-mid nineties (can't remember which year, church trip), and I just can't imagine a New York/Manhattan skyline without them. Even now, ten years later.
