The Romanov Royal Martyrs

The Romanov Royal Martyrs

2 жыл бұрын

Topic of discussion of the panel: Was the outbreak of the Great War in August 1914 a failure of diplomacy, or a failure of foresight on the part of political and military elites, who went to war open-eyed but miscalculated consequences?

I’m glad he touched on Russias fear of a repeat of the Crimean war where in effect all the west ganged up on Russia to prevent it expanding in the black sea and even retaking Constantinople. So much for Alexanders dream of a Holy Alliance and a Christian Europe! 1453 was forgotten in the west but not the east. What the tsars never forgot or forgave was Austrias lack of support during that war. There was a deeply emotional antipathy to the Germanic powers but maybe a more pragmatic course could have been set. Nicholas II was probably too honorable a statesman to have sacrificed the Serbs.

I was pretty disgusted reading some of the British propaganda from the Crimean War. I've always wanted for the Civilizational ties between these different spheres of European Civilization to be re-emphasized, but I find Russian skepticism to be understandable, shame as it is.

The US is not Christian as a government order. It is Masonic, and their god is Albert Pike, and their bible is "Morals and Dogma.". The 3 world wars were all planned and executed by them, the global hidden hand.

@@corneliuscapitalinus845 Britain is the head of the snake of globalism, along with Germany its long-time hegemonic rival. They are cut from the same cloth, Anglo-Saxon and Masonry. Their "royal" ceremonies are all Masonic, as well as architecture, protocols, thought, and art.

Russia still has a bigger chance to revive their monarchy after perhaps the end of putin’s rule someday, albeit it will become a consitutionally enforced one if it pushes thru, as compared to the chances in the former central powers. The post-putin era is surely an ambiguous yet a pivotal point in russian history, and the world might see the return of the romanovs in a less powerful seat. The marriage of one of the disputing heirs in throne in the saint isaac’s cathedral recently is a testament to that

I have to take issue with the view comparing Stalin to ministers of Imperial Russia who wanted to keep Russia out of conflict. How does that explain Stalin’s violent seizure of Poland, the Baltic states, Bassarabia, and its attack of Finland (Winter War)? It seems to me Stalin took advantage of his pact with Hitler to take over other states. Yes, they had been part of the Russian Empire, but not of the Soviet Union.

The Stalin plan was to deflect Germany westward with a mutual deal with Germany rather than trying to deter with treaties with flanking powers (i.e. France and Britain). The most likely case was Germany invades France and then get bogged down into a slow war of attrition for a second time. In ww1 Russia had an alliance with the flanking powers and was obliged to direct attack Germany in order to help out France, but to little direct benefit for Russia - what was Russia to get out of the triple entente by doing the French and British dirty work for them? So Stalin, based on what happened in ww1 and the fact that France had the largest army in 1939, decided on a deflection policy. This allowed Russia to pursue it's own interests in "taking back" territory that it previously "lost", i.e. bit of poland, Finland and baltic states. As Stalin said: Hilter can't be that stupid to invade us? However in 1939/40 everything went completely wrong. France totally collapsed in 2 weeks and then spent the rest of the time doing a bit of nazi collaboration - only the British empire was able to keep calm and carry on fighting the nazis in 1940 (no-one else was at the time). Russia's invasion of Finland showed to the Germans that the Russian army was totally incompetent and therefore Germany could easily invade Russia as the Russian army would be a push over - almost happened. The situation got so bad there was a shotgun marriage between Stalin and Churchill where the US supplies were to be shipped to Russia in colossal proportions in order to keep Russia, the only continental European country doing any real fighting directly with Germany from 41 onwards, afloat - the US/British were unsure if they would also totally collapse at the time. The British/US could only begin to invade the toe of Italy in September of 43 - they could do little else in the 3-4 years prior. Stalin, despite having a mental breakdown at the beginning of the German invasion and despite purging the army beforehand to make is worse than incompetent, ended up the biggest benefactor from ww2 (in part because he let the Russian general get on with the job without interfering). In the aftermath, the map was redrawn on the demands of Stalin with many east European countries literally pushed westwards into Germany with proxy Russian control of east central Europe. An epic disaster it was. At the heart of ww2 is the moral problem that Churchill faced: to help the arch enemy, the communists, defeat the Nazis, with the consequence that east europe was to become communist. No-one knew at the time how far the Russians would be able to go westward and how much of east europe would become communist.

How can you use diplomacy on a matter and person you deny the existence of. Who is there to meet for diplomatic dialogue if I don't exist or I am crazy? There will be NO meeting absent of TRUTH. My son cried for weeks because of how grabbed him from my arms and with zero empathy or concern, throw him with total strangers. He must have left like his mom had died for days on end. There will be NO denying of his experience, so you can argue - if there is a baby all the things my son suffered through never happened. I am NOT stupid. Do not waste my time and insult my intelligence!
