Hey so this probably was noticed by several people, but this is an Alternate “Kaiserreich style” world war 1, not the actual Kaiserreich cannon. Also i’d like to apologize for the video again having several errors, (such as ottomans owning Cyprus at first, or accidentally un coloring Corsica, when I said it would not after releasing WW2 rp (Full). As well as the video having some extra things added halfway through. Trust me though, my next video will FOR SURE have no, or at least minimal errors.

the early war on the eastern front is very realistic. to reach paris quickly, they need to divert forces from eastern front and focus it on the western front, which is highly unlikely but quite realistic.

As nice as that is, there’s a fact I must point out as an Italian: general Cadorna’s mindset was entirely Eurocentric. He focused the entire army effort on the European front, blocking any pre-war military operation to secure Libya. This led to the colony almost collapsing under the pressure of the Senussi Order: it became so bad that the French and British had to send troops into Libya themselves, because the Senussi were extending their attacks to nearby Egypt and Tunisia. Had Italy joined the central powers in 1915 we would’ve lost Libya altogether, and maybe even Somalia and Eritrea.

To be fair, Cadorna was a complete idiot, so any war where Italy is doing something more useful than wasting millions of lives over the Isonzo river would require him gone. Also, Cadorna wanted Trento and Trieste back and that's was the entire point of the war for Italy, which he got already in this scenario, so not easy to assume what the next plan would be. From a strategic point of view, making a breakthrough in the Alps would be an impossibility for Italy. The western Alps are too high and there are very few chockepoints to attack, so diverting troops to try to seize the Suez together with the Ottomans would be sensibile. Not easy, considering how hard it would be to fight in the desert with only infantry and very precarious naval situation, but valuable. There is one more thing: Italy would be starving for grain if they joined the Central Powers, since most of Italian imports of grain were from Canada and other UK colonies. Securing Egypt would be important in that scenario. So I wouldn't count out the idea of a fight in North Africa.

Nice scenario. The only thing I don't get is how Austria-Hungary, who fought 2 years more and would be needing half it's army just to keep the Balkans under control would be able to take down Italy that easily. Croatia (and potentially many other populations inside the empire) would revolt immediately with a potential ally so close, and Italy would have complete sea dominance in a 1v1 with Austria. I don't get how they'd lose that hard, when in real life Austria lasted as long as it did only thanks to German help.

I thought they would win since irl they took Venice from Italy in the Great War. Since Italy was also distracted in other fronts I thought Italy would lose here.

@jvalcor5649 they absolutely did not take Venice from Italy IRL. After victory at Caporetto (saying "it was a Caporetto" in Italian still means suffering a horrific defeat), Austria reached river Piave but failed to break the Italian army. And on river Piave they were stopped in a very hard fought series of battles, where Austria lost the remaining offensive capabilities it had. Venice was under fire from artillery, but never captured. Italy simply stalled the attack and waited for empire to disintegrate from the inside, which happened right around the autumn of 1918. When the Austrian empire started its collapse from the inside, Italy striked at Vittorio Veneto, capturing some 400k men and ending the war.

@@12gark oh I see, I thought they took the city but they only took parts of the province. They did still win against Italy (partly) do I still think them winning is not too unreasonable with a distracted Italy. But I agree that it should have been much closer or have lost that war. This scenario was for fun and not meant to be realistic though, and this just sets up future videos in this universe, such as another Austrian - Italian war and the Colapse of Austria Hungary.

Nice but It's not the canon of the HOI4 kaiserreich (If its based on that) cause in the mod the canon is (I think) much much simpler. Basically, all goes the same except germany never starts the U-boat campaign against USA and after Russia collapses they divert forces to the west and defeat the french. Simple as that. Very good video tho very nice very cool waaah

@@Aras-em6nz Probably, but at the same time Austria might not even have years left. I agree with your point, I just added it to give the end of the video more substance. At the same time, Austria was fresh out of victory, and Italy was distracted, and also weakened. This was Austria’s only chance. Over all it was a stupid choice from Austria but they were never the most competent anyways. (Edited for spelling)
