It's very common. If you go to Benapole border. Then you will understand what's called corruption. One of my Hindu friend in college he was born and brought up in Bangladesh. At the age of 15, he came to India Illegally with his family and half of their converted into Indian and remains halves are Bangladeshi. They do bussiness. Indian Black money they sent Bangladesh and Bangladeshi Black money they sent to India. And these guy have every Valid Indian documents even ration card also. He told us that if you have money ,everything is achievable.

So if you know that particular dialect you can easily survive in meghalaya even in assam. For example, there is a region named sylhet, one portion of that region is in India and the other one is in bangladesh. The native people speak sylheti language but sylheti is a dialect of bengali. So everyone don't need to go to WB for language similarity and not every bangladeshi know how to speak the howrah-hooghly dialect(mostly spoken in WB) of wb. They can easily survive in meghalaya, assam or tripura may be other north eastern states too. They won't find that much difficulties.

This is a big misunderstanding. India has constructed the fence 150 metres away from the border, under a bilateral pact signed in 1975. That's why people may 'step in India without PASSPORT VISA' but can't actually access to go inside India. That's means It's easier for Indian people who live on the Bangladeshi side of fence to enter Bangladesh than vice versa.
