Love this game :) So many funny stories that can emerge just like in other top sims like DF. I was culling the ranks of an orc tribe yesterday because they grew too strong. But I unfortunately used the mushroom plague turning all into mushroom people. Even as a god I struggled to keep the pandemic under control. Then a clan of white wizards caught it too. With their new mushroom heads they where teleporting around laying waste to all humanoid life :(

I did something similar. Put mushroom spores on an army thinking it'd be funny, a few decades later and most civs were wiped because of it. Decided to nuke the whole map to get rid of it and got some new civs. And after a century of progress, what do you know, the spores survived somewhere and did it once again. I learned later that Plague Doctor removes Mushroom spores so when I tried AGAIN I graced the civs with a bunch of plague doctors whenever I saw a single mushroom man.

Corruption biome gives units that stand on the land curses and anything that dies on it becomes undead, while enchanted biome can give blessings and fairies that have a rare chance to spawn.

also, snakes that you spawn on corrupted ground are black and will seek out any living thing to attack. they don't stay in their area either. i accidentally wiped out a civilization with snakes because I didn't want anyone crossing the corrupted land...

If I could make a epic detailed suggestion how about a Lord of the Rings Middle Earth map or a Beleriand map from JRR Tolkien's world of Arda from Lord of the Rings? Races and kingdoms are spawned in the areas they come from and Mordor and Angband are infernal biomes surrounded by mountains with some dreaded scary abandoned places on the maps such as Nan Dungortheb and even undead places like the Barrow Downs being the cursed biome? As for Mordor their prime chieftain will represent Sauron and Angband it shall represent Morgoth. They will be giant super strong immortal orcs with the best weapons and armor with a huge amount of health. Higher stats can be applied to kings or individuals of elves, men, and dwarves such as Fingolfin, Fearnor, Turin, Aragorn, Elrond, Saruman, Gandalf and other characters. Orcs shall always be aggressive and rebellions, natural disasters, and other disasters maybe left on.

42:00 : you must go WAYYY back to find "any other game"...my best bet would be on SEGA Mega Drive :Populous...THERE you could play GOD for two "nations"...you on the "good blue" side....your enemy on the "bad red" one...let the blue ones flourish while beating the bad ones with all your allmighty powers back into the void...with "heroes" roaming through the landscape, man eating swamps..."conversion puddles" ,Flame coloums destroying enemy land ,Anks placed to summon up followers into a certain space of land ect ect...I LOVED that game back in thoose times....and this special gems seem to awake that old spirit again for now...^^
