I was on my second trip to Portland and Adam was playing in the airport. Before I noticed he was there and that it was live cello music, all I could think about was how calm the airport felt. People weren't as anxious and there was peace in the air. It was because Adam was playing his cello right there in the airport. I fell in love with the sound and am now learning how to play cello. (I've never played any kind of instrument before.)

I started listening to this guy in November 2012 when I first traveled to Turkey, Ankara. It had a unique taste at that time when it was snowing. I fell in love with "Sparrow" music of him since then. I have been using it for my alarm since 2012. Omg. This piece takes me back to those old days. I'm still in Ankara. Omg. Time is running and life is changing so fast. 😕 I'm originally from Iraq. Love and Peace to all.

After watching "The Piano Guys" on PBS recently & commenting on Facebook about the beauty of the cello music & how it brought me to tears, a FB friend of mine recommended the music of Adam Hurst - what a wonderful gift this friend gave me! I fell in LOVE with Adam's music while listening to 'Sparrow', the very first song of his that I heard! I'm going to recommend it to my friends that also watched 'The Piano Guys' and loved the music - Looking forward to listening to ALL of Adam's music!!!

"Upon tides of ebbing and waning pain, the anguished rolled into his heart as he looked out across the vast sea before him, eyes glittering with the moisture that was not the spray off the white caps brushing the listing bow of the ship. Closing his eyes against the darkening sky, one hand tightened upon the rigging, the other thumbed a ring that had sat in place for years. The grey of the storm before him echoed in his eyes and he knew as he stared out into the monstrous swells, he would never get to hold her hand again, struck in reminiscent thoughts over the times that he had, too few, too seldom. It made him smile wretchedly from the love they had shared and the regret tightening his chest. If she only knew, if he had only told her more often..." (A bit of writing this piece inspired. Thanks Adam. A sorrowful reminder that while life is beautiful, it comes to an end, so we should make sure we live so that we do not regret.)

Chad Miller I have great appreciation for art, music and literature, as you will see from some of favs. The fact that I enjoy such music - which is what brought me to this page in the first place - does not preclude making humorous comments. Are you American? If so then I excuse your ignorance as I know that you are unable to appreciate irony, which is why your culture introduced 'canned laughter' _ i.e. to let you know when a joke was being made.

A year ago i went to Eugene, Oregon. There was a small festival. I herd the most beautiful, amazing thing i ever heard. I ran tell i saw a man sitting on a chair in the middle of a circle of swarming people, i pushed through and stared in awe, "What a beautiful man" i thought. He bowed and lifted his head and looked me straight in the eye, and smiled. He walked up to me and asked "do you like the cello?" I nodded quickly. He smiled again and began to play again. cello is my life. Thank you Adam

Here I was just learning the basic and I saw I had never felt such electrifiedhappiness vibrate through my soul. Art is the the embodiment of the dreams that we wish and the dreams that are. Why do we see it in different ways? We each have a way that we subtly change a picture, a way that gives it the image that we wish to see. The use of music is just one of these. And for the perfect portrayal of a fragile spirit yearning for the freedom it once had I commend Hurst. Well done.

I love watching him play. For some reason having longer fingers makes the playing look more elegant than if you have shorter fingers like mine. Also, this makes me miss playing the cello so much. Three years and I haven't touched the cello at all. In my opinion, it is the most beautiful instrument, so full of heart and so heavy with emotion, it makes perfect for the sadder pieces. To this day I still don't know why I chose to play the cello, but I can't say I regret it!

Why must people have to compare or catergorize everything, how can they? Each and every individual thing on this planet is unique, Adam Hurst, there can never be anyone like him, the music people compose can be similar to his but not actually his. It's like people trying to cover a song note for note, trying to get the same sounds, but in reality, they can't. It's also like Jimi Hendrix, he was an amazing guitarist like Billy Gibbons or B.B. King, or even John Paul Jones and Neil Pearht.
