This is Gold coach. Feints are underrated by many boxers and academies. They can really give you a lot of information and openings. There is one wise and old boxing saying: "Throw feints that look like punches and throw punches that look like feints". Giving away the outside foot position provides them with false confidence, which can even cause them to overextend with dominant hand attack. It does not really matter if they throw a straight or curve punch, you will be out of the attack line already and coming back with your attack.

What makes Coach Tom´s channel and teachings so complete, is the fact that he teaches for both southpaws and orthodox, his strategies are the finest and if I wasn´t too old for start a Boxing career (I´m 26, 27 in May 30) I would have had Tom as my trainer. I train for passion, for self defense and for getting knowledge, cause even I´m not a Pro, I love combat sports, and train them like if I was a Pro. Greetings Coach!!!

@@JP.nikesox13 Thanks my fiend, but look at Mike Tyson, or even Canelo, they were beasts at the age of 19-21... Tyson at the age of 15 was already the terror of grown men... Gervonta Davis and Naoya Inoue are monsters, and they are my age. Thanks bro for the motivation, but at my age If I was a boxer or kickboxer or MMA fighter, I should be already a pro, but I´m a lawyer who is just obsessed with combat sports, self defense, and learning from the best how to defend myself, still I can really do good stuff in sparring, or in a street fight. Greetings brother!!!

🥊 GREAT VIDEO !!! Could you do a video focusing on southpaw right hook set ups & combos & also southpaw defence. I got a theory that a cross arm guard defense would work well with that stance especially for a pressure fighter let me know what you think

Thanks Coach! Can you do a video on: - The difference between throwing a Right Hand and throwing a Cross? - How and in what situations a boxer should throw the Overhand Right? (I’m referring to Orthodox vs Orthodox for these, btw.)
@theboltthrower86613 жыл бұрын
I´m not Coach Tom, but as a Muay Thai Kickboxer, and Boxing practitioner, from my understanding is that the Right Hand is thrown in the center line, while the cross is when you go out the center line while throwing it, excuse my ignorance, tho, as for some guys it´s the same punch, for others it isn´t. Some Muay Thai guys and Dutch Kickboxers use the terms as if they were refering to a diferent punch... like I said, the right hand is for example a TWO thrown normally after the ONE in a 1-2 combo, while in the cross you go out the center line. Please Coach Yankello correct me if I´m wrong, and share your thoughts about them, as I´m also confused between the two terms.

Thanks Sir I have been learning your videos and not any others from now on I don't feel the need to as your stance structure is what the champions use I really enjoy having a jab that can generate as much power as a right hand, Jab is the first line of defence needs to he scary Thanks

Great video man can you do some more videos on shadowboxing drills and heavybag drills? The pad work drills are great but a lot of people only have access especially right now to shadowboxing and the bag. Also maybe some more tactics for short fighters? Thanks man keep up the great work

As a Southpaw myself, I would rather throw the same a jab short, then the lead cross to get my weight to the back foot or slip under the right, then come back with my straight left I'm going to clean this up with my right hook! To the Layman this would look like a double Jab slip under the right as I am pulling back follow up straight left, right hook. Sorry sir I am a heavyweight can't be drilling tricks it only takes one shot!
