She booked her ticket to the Olympics with this performance. She and Wong were probably the most likely 5th gymnast (behind Biles, Chiles, Lee, and. Carey). Hezly beat Wong all 4 nights of Nationals and Trials on bars and beam and that is where this 5th spot is needed (4th gymnast for bars and Likely 3rd gymnast on beam).

Phenomenal, I can not believe she's an olympian. So unexpected but I am so so happy for her! Really peaked at the right time, probably the first time Valeri paced another gymnast fantastically other than Nastia.

Hezley does have very nice lines that will score well. She seems a bit more reliable than Wong. if not on the team, then hopefully travelling alternate. I hope she gets on the team. she would be a nice addition!

Rivera beat Wong on beam and bars all 4 nights. She beat Roberson and Sumanasekera 3 out of the 4 nights. She also had the single highest score between all 4 of them. She also has a better bar routine than the other 3.

Some of those series are going to get pinged in Paris unless the connections are quicker. Hopefully just nerves.

Every single routine was heavily overscored yesterday, in real life (aka international judging) that would be at least -0.500 lower if not more since those connections would also probably not get credited.

I know she had a great performance tonight but, I don't agree with her spot. I think Leanne should have been going. I think Miss Rivera is too inexperienced to have on an olympic team right out the door. I'm sorry but, I think that was a bad decision.
@bryanthan93637 ай бұрын
Even if they didn’t choose hezly, joscelyn would have been chosen over Leanne, josc outscores Leanne on vault, beam and floor. Also, Leanne’s contribution on bar isn’t too significant to justify choosing her over hezly / joscelyn, a hit bar routine by Carey is only at most 5 tenths and most of the time less than 3 tenths apart. They chose in this order Hezly > josc > Leanne
@ajimenez1719ify7 ай бұрын
@@bryanthan9363 But Leanne is consistent. She can hit the set and we know that. Nobody really knows if Miss Hezly can bc she has never been to a meet that is that big before. Leanne and Jocelyn have both been to either a worlds or olympic games. I just think she is too young and too inexperienced and I'm afraid she may choke under pressure.
