Holly arrived at World Horse Welfare Glenda Spooner Farm in early November 2022 following a report from a member of the public about a foal on its own in a remote part of Wales. Field Officer Tony Evans (with the help of a local farmer who drove him around on his quad bike for some hours) discovered Holly in a very poor condition in a clump of undergrowth - her little ears popped up when she heard the sound of the quad bike and Tony spotted her. It is thought that another night on her own would have been too much and she would have almost certainly died.
She arrived at Glenda Spooner Farm in a very poor state and the team estimate that she was away from her mother for up to two weeks. She was very underweight and her immune system weak. She had rainscald, lice and during her time at Glenda Spooner Farm has suffered pyrexia. However, she has an amazing spirit and immense fight for such a young and vulnerable foal.
