Worldlines | [Kingdom Hearts Discussion]

Worldlines give new meaning to the KH Universe, hopefully we will see more information on them in the coming titles. I forgot to address this in the video, but essentially the lines we see in the background of the numbered titles could be an indication of the different types of worldlines they travel to, ie II is the real world and the datascapes, III would be the the real world, datascapes and sleeping worlds. But that's just a small theory I wanted to address at the end and forgot. Thanks for watching and again, as always, I apologize for the wait between videos!

First, I want to say this is an incredible, and descriptive explanation on the idea of Worldlines, which is one of the biggest changes to the KH landscape in a long while. And I'd like to expound on this, to kind of pull back the viewpoint and add my own opinion. First, it's important to note that Kingdom Hearts tends to be very specific with its wording. That's very true with the use of the word "World". Because while the places we go to are indeed worlds, there is only one World. The broader cosmos, what we would likely understand a "universe" to be, is just "The World" in Kingdom Hearts, as it was originally one singular, physical plane in the Age of Fairy Tales. More learned characters in Kingdom Hearts often view space, the empty void between the various worlds, as the Ocean Between, and view those various worlds as islands themselves. Xehanort uses that term specifically in Birth by Sleep. So, based on that, I do think that various worlds moving at differing speeds is an important detail, I don't think it means that each of the various worlds have their own Worldline. To give a visual example, this explanation would mean that each world is it's own knot, with many ropes coming off of it that can be travelled to through various methods. I don't see how that kind of power, limited to the world its used on, wouldn't create a variety of paradoxes. It means that, in the context of the World, Xehanort both lost and won simultaneously. Which has massive ramifications that directly conflict with each other. I think that a Worldline is directly related not the various worlds, but the World. The best visual I can offer, is this: The World, in which all various worlds (Traverse Town, Destiny Islands, Radiant Garden, etc.) exist as a singular braided rope. Each thread within that braid is one of those worlds. They are all of different lengths, constantly growing as well, all woven together in one unit. That is The World... but then, running parallel to that singular rope, is many (maybe infinite) ropes, similar in design but with differences within them. Each of them, is a singular Worldline. Each with similar starts, but based on significant changes, divergent. Changes like... Whether Kingdom Hearts is used to start a giant reset or not. Whether Darkness sweeps over the world or not. Which major figure wins in a conflict (such as Sora, and Yozora). I also believe that this is primarily true of the Realm of Light. I think there are much grayer lines in regards to the Realm of Sleep, the Realm of Darkness, the Realm of Death... and, maybe, the Realm of Data. Which would corroborate the notion that the Datascapes can be used to traverse Worldlines, via the Lifeboats or something like what the Union X leaders arrived from.

Basically, the Fate or destiny of everything is different. For Example, in one Worldline, Sora's friends are destined to die. Sora cheats, and now, they are not.

I always thought the reason the raft disappeared is because Future Sora and Riku stole it from themselves in the past, which is why it wasn't on the island when Young Sora got there. Your reason works, too.

I like that idea. If Sora created a new worldline by changing the past, then Sora can't return to the original one because he is the catalyat needed for the new one to exist. Marvel has the Quantum Realm, and the characters can travel between different parallel worlds (worldlines), provided they use the moment in which the timelines diverge, or change in which the traveler created.

I believe that both endings to the Yosora are canon and that we will be playing through both worldlines where Sora journeys and Riku journeys through. It’ll be the first main game which will have multiple main characters.

My personal hypothesis is that the reason why Player is able to travel through the Lanes in Between might have to do with their partner Chirithy, which might be able to protect them due to being a special Dreameater. On the other hand, I think the Masters are able to travel through them because the clothes they are wearing is some kind ancient kind of keyblade armor. Of course, none of these are based on evidence and just my speculations.

Interesting ideas! I think the Chirithy being a dreameater that would keep nighthmares away doesn’t necessarily correlate to heartless or darkness... but I guess 1) we aren’t sure where they are and 2) dreameaters are their own manner of darkness according to Yen Sid. And that’s also a good point, we do see black coats and the white coat from Strelitzia, so it’s possible these robes do protect them

Okay I'm basically going to write my thoughts throughout the chapters I'm currently watching, so sorry if you address my thoughts later in the haha! You don't even have to respond to this haha *What is a Worldline?* I really like your interpretation of worldlines, and I think it fits better with less holes then that of say, parallel timelines. For example, one reason why I don't believe (at the moment anyway) that the Dandelions in data Daybreak town are in a second timeline (one where no War ever happened) is because Maleficent arrived from the future, but the modern KH games, where Maleficent comes from, all have the Keyblade Graveyard. If Union Cross took place in a data world that was truly on a different timeline where the War never happened, the none of games BbS-KH3 would have a keyblade graveyard. This leads me to believe they are still on the same timeline as the original X game. So, if what Luxu meant by worldlines in Observations Excerpt 1 was what YOU interpret worldlines to be, that makes a lot more sense. *What is a Parallel World?* This makes me wonder if the unchained state is KH's version of a lowered vibe frequency. The unchained state is still very mysterious, and we don't exactly have a clear definition on what it means, but I do see similarities between the two, and that peaks my interest! *What is a Worldline? (Cont. I )* I'm glad you mentioned the Tear's definition too! That's another thing that leads me to believe worldlines are not actually parallel timelines, (or at least, that Sora did not CREATE a parallel timeline when "rewriting destiny"), because Sora time traveling and being able to access BOTH "histories" implies they took place on one single timeline. If a second timeline truly was created, then Sora time traveling in ReMind would not show him the first "history" of all the Guardians falling to the Demon Tide (at least, this is what I think right now). By the way, I think its VERY interesting that the Book of Prophecies seems to end exactly when Sora creates the Tear. So I can't help but wonder if Sora himself accidentally fucked up the Master of Master's future vision. I've wondered this since KH3 came out, and ReMind only emphasized this for me. *How does Worldline Travel Work* Where are you getting that the power the Dandelions learned was the Power of Waking? was this talked about in your Sleeping Worlds video? If so, I'll need to rewatch that to freshen up. But I don't recall the Power of Waking being mentioned in X or UX, let alone explained as the reason they're able to enter/transfer via the Unchained realm. *The Lanes Between* I really appreciate you connecting Birth by Sleep because I was unsure of what those X/UX portals were. I was thinking (with nothing to back me up) they were a light version of corridors of darkness, but seeing how similar it looks to the portal that opens behind Terra in Enchanted Dominion, they do indeed seem to be the same. And this helps me understand ReMind, as I did not understand how all of a sudden they could just enter the Ream of Darkness so easily. In Birth by Sleep they always traveled with their armor anyway. *Sora's Usage of the Power of Waking* in the Sora and Beat comparison, this, along with the point I made in "What is a Parallel Word", I wonder if these will be two other things that I mention in my own video (that you said you watched by now, other wise I would not bring this up LOL), that KH may twist any of TWEWY's original logic to better fit the KH universe ? *What is a Worldline? (Cont. II )* Honestly the idea that Merlin and Yen Sid have abilities of time travel (or to make others time travel) simply "with magic" kind of irks me haha! Maybe I want explanations a little more tangible I guess *Worldline Oddities in KH3D* You bringing up the Country of Musketeers and Symphony of Sorcery also reminds me of Julius, who in the original film Runaway Brain, is a spoof/version of Pete. *Conclusion* I should have mentioned this earlier, but in Quest 920 of UX, Darkness (at least in the original Japanese version, the english seems to be a bit more vague) mentions the lifeboat was originally intended to also travel to the Ocean Between (maybe you mention that in this? I don't think you did but I may have missed it), as in, KH's version of outer space. So I wonder if somehow Radiant Garden has either the same work moved and completed (who knows how, beats me) or a completely different twin that was completed, and Xehanort somehow knew that he could send Kairi out to the Ocean Between. This possible connection is what leads me to believe that it is indeed the lifeboat (or lifeboats if each capsule is considered a different one). It may be that Maleficent needs to leave the datascape through the digital lifeboats, and then time travel through the REAL lifeboats located in the real Daybreak Town. I could ABSOLUTELY be wrong, these are just my two cents.

*What is a Worldline?* I'm glad you mentioned the keyblade graveyard, that's actually what sent me down these 3 recent videos about worlds, because I was trying to understand how those existed given the messy circumstances with X and UX! *What is a Parallel World?* Oooo, I like that! Kind of makes sense too with the idea of "data" and stuff, especially with the Noise enemies from TWEWY. I can very much see this unchained state being akin to the angelic ability to hop between different planes and worlds without having to downtune or be stuck since one's vibe is too low. *What is a Worldline? (Cont.)* I think the only inkling I would have to counterargue would be the definition from TWEWY of parallel worlds, since it was a choice he went back to deliberately changed. The Tear talks about a new world, which is why I think it has it's own worldline, buuuut I'm not sure if this would be considered a parallel world in terms of TWEWY since Joshua is like "Time has to run the same in both worlds to be a parallel world" and we aren't sure if the time runs the same or not. Although I guess them reliving the same exact thing, but LW coming in could be evidence to say they are tracking on the same time. Yes! Damo actually points out in his latest video about how Data Master Xehanort does talk about the book in his defeat/ win quotes which I find interesting. *How does Worldline Travel Work* I believe I do cover this in that video! I don't think they name it specifically, but yeah. I think we differ on that interpretation, so I'd love to discuss it more sometime. *The Lanes Between* Yoo, I had the same idea, that they were corridors of light LOL I'm still not sure one can use the Lanes Between to get to the realm of darkness *Sora's Usage of the Power of Waking* YES, I definitely am on board with that thinking! *Worldline Oddities in KH3D* Ohhhhh, I did not know this! I will have to look into this more! Thanks! *Conclusion* Ahh, okay... I do remember reading that when the translations came out. I think I'm really hesitant to trust fan translations, as much as I do appreciate them! I think I just tend to trust the official translation since I don't know Japanese enough to translate it. Oh okay! I haven't heard this interpretation, but it is definitely interesting! I think the English translation of Maleficent and Lauriam's interaction seems to indicate to me that this pod is the entrance and exit specifically, and the lifeboat is something different, but I am definitely open to this interpretation! We definitely need to have a chat sometime, I know I said that before with my other video, I'm just really bad about doing stuff Lol

We seem to have similar ideas and directions with the logic of KH, even if we're not EXACTLY alike I feel like agree with an overwhelming percentage of your videos. 2. I get you with fan translations, I'm hesitant to use ultimanias as sources since they're often retconed. We all have our skepticism lmao 2. I also try not to watch videos on things I'm making my own videos on 3. I am just TERRIBLE with online conversations and communication.... its always been my weakness LOL.

I hope it is eventually revealed that "data worlds" are actually different worldlines and the sci-fi aspect is just a result of the technology used to observe a different timeline. That would clean up so much of KH's nonsense

Beast in hollow bastion simply says " i just believed and now im here". Remember right before the demon tower extinguishes the light? When Kairi get ripped away from Sora he falls to his knees screaming and crying (mega goosebump moment amirite?) He says "theyre gone. Theyre all gone.... Whatre gon a do? We're finished. Its over." Riku looks at him and says "you dont believe that, Sora... I know you dont." About 10 seconds later Soras in the final world.

I had assumed that worldlines were seperate versions of the multivese (I interpreted the worldlines crossing (of the foretellers and dandelions) of the data scape being that the data version is another worldline of the main multivese (rather than each worldline being a parallel copy of an individual world (universe) and instead the multivese).

I think it’s still unclear, I think my idea was that Mickey’s star shard brought him to this point possibly in the sleeping world, and then the dream kind of filled in Donald and Goofy and the gummi ship, because the gummi ship definitely shouldn’t be there. My other thought was the looping of the datascape, but if I recall, this isn’t the datascape yet. I think they’ll have an explanation soon though

As for Sora in everything in this is pretty much accurate and correct Dora must have the power as stated so many times in The story search reverse and transcend space time and reality with his powers he's been able to somehow amplify them in KH 3 as for the master of Masters almost the same could be said for him but as for the keyblade she merely not only extracted he Amplified their powers so they can present themselves with the keyblades that way inside their hearts as for the dive to hearts and Kingdom Hearts 3 that is possible that store was in his normal clothes traversing the world's but he still managed to bring everyone back to this new Branch reality safe and sound when he save them from the breaker of despair that's what I got so far

I enjoyed it very much this particular video especially and the theory of traveling through time and Dream Drop Distance is very much True by sitting in your mind heart inspirit back to time to your younger self to control your old body or just your heart and mind to do so to control your younger self as when it comes to time traveling when it comes to just the sleeping worlds in my guest this power must come from harnessing that from within being that the very existence of the light of the universe started before anything else in beings of the universe are born from that same power connecting our hearts and minds and other pieces of ourselves to it to harness it dreams and everything else in our hearts and Minds to transcend the power of War harness the power of space time and reality in the universe in to travel from world to world as well with that power this video has provided people with many curious Clues and questions to go further in the story good work not bad at all
