I believe even after all the experiences with kundalini and illumination, one must read the scriptures to enhance upon the knowledge one has naturally gathered. What do you mean by awakening? Way too many people speak about their awakening who are obviously not enlightened by any metric. I've had many visions of very expansive mental states, access to realms without number, non-dual, emptiness, etc. Each successive vision blows the last one wide open. But alas, a vision is just a vision, it is not attainment. Always best to err on the side of don't know mind, and don't speak about petty awakenings, come back when you radiate it, when you are awakening.
