Morning Gents - I've got a 2014 500E- and the electrical connector that the lamp plugs into appears burnt - can I replace just the wiring harness ? or do I need to replace the entire headlamp assembly ? I thank you for the videos as well - have given me the confidence to make repairs myself (since I do not have a trained Fiat mechanic anywhere near me) keep up the great work !!

This post is now a year old, so you've probably solved it... but for others in the future, the wiring inside the lights (headlight and drl/hi-beam) melts because the insulation is crap and there is a lot of heat build-up inside the light assembly. The best option is replacement of the entire assembly and refit with LEDs (make sure they are CANBUS error free ones). Better, cleaner and clearer light and almost no heat. The wiring and connectors should then last forever. We've been through all this on our 13 year old, 170K 500.

Can you tell us where the purple connector on the side of the headlight is for? Also, my number is a little bit different: F00HTC101915 and yours is 901 at the end. Whats the difference, do you know?

This car on the video is for north American market and has symmetrical light pattern for low beam and for Europe market lights has asymmetrical lights pattern low beam that means for Europe market the low beam lights beam a little bit further to the right (for UK RHD a little bit further to left) to illuminate better pavement, traffic signs, pedestrians... and for north American market the low beam pattern is symmetrical and doesn't beam so further. The high beam has the same symmetrical pattern for north American market and for European market, there is no difference. In that housing. You don't need to remove the housing to change the bulb.
