What a great set of videos, I think I've learnt more about Roman Britain in the last few hours than I ever did at school, thanks professor.

When I was a child the baths in Bath were fully open, I so wanted to go swimming there.

As they say in Latin: "Aequioribus animis quam iter faciebat per Clark". When translated - This is better than the Griswolds vacation!

Would the stone wall of those villas (and other such residential and business buildings) have been bare naked stonework, or would they have been covered with plaster or wood or something? I figure outside walls would be naked stone, but would they tolerate that on interiors?

They definitely had plaster on the interior walls, which were often painted.

Thank you, I'd been wondering that for some time

The city stopped people from bathing in the original hot baths after a young girl died after catching the "brain-eating amoeba" Naegleria fowleri, which establishes itself in hot springs. Instead you can bathe at Bath Thermae Spa which is nearby and has a different water source.

Those floor mosaics are so good! I'd preserve them in clear silicon if I could

Sad that you couldn't make it to Caerwent as its City Walls are beyond compare.
