Tad bit overhyped, this one... considering it was choreography and not freestyle, he was very inactive for the later half. You can easily tell he has used up most of his moves in the first half so he becomes weaker in his moments... his arsenal is not very diverse. mostly built off of basic isolation and use of moves i have seen before from other dancers in the western and european world (such as the dead drop, the spinning ankle, etc..), and his signature gesture where his hands are parallel in vertical chopstick form in front of his torso is used many times. his musicality is also not very strong in the sense that he dances the exact same in all of his performances counting this one in consideration of his arsenal's redundancy throughout his career. of course, this clashes with having an alter-ego as both J PINK and J BLACK, therefore his styles are separated to different musical genders as J PINK is the feminine side and J BLACK is the masculine, so that would be the reason for his limited range of moves. overall OK though 'cause it's still a qualifier but i do think the audience is somewhat cheering for even the littlest things (perhaps there is a difference between asian, european and american audiences?) and he has obviously integrated a lot of dance moves from european/american well-known dancers' styles so he is still not very refined in creating his own, but hopefully he does because they are easily recognizable. IDK, i haven't watched many J PINK performances but after a few J BLACK's performances, even his choreographies are lacking in creativity when compiled... 3 of them use the exact same moves multiple times, even this one. his freestyle is also much weaker (refer to the facebook video on his page for a perfect example), he demonstrates lack of ability to fluctuate to the music whenever given a different genre or song he has never heard before and has no connection to its flow which is a huge disadvantage as his movements do not fit or sync at all and are exaggerated as well as random, incoherent to the sonically cohesive quality dance should possess, but since this is WOD, that won't be much of a problem. he is strong at what he does and has somewhat varied from other Korean hip hop dancers but i want to see more musicality and more difference in each performance as right now he would rank amongst probably average in Europe or America (western audiences at WOD would not be as impressed since they are very familiar to his moves from other dancers as am i). the south koreans should enjoy this though. he will do well in WODKOR but from a critical standpoint he would not make it far in the West WODs such as WODLA.

men i don't care about diverse or choreo or or or or or . give me one single dancer exceded this level in this two shows of j-black then i will shut my fucking mouth up Judge Show J-BLACK | Daejeon, South Korea | 2014 & 2015 Underground Session Vol.5 by the way i do agree that in this show he didn't do anything special or anything at all. but to say that this men based on his other performance is lack of skill talent or creativity then you know nothing abourt dancing or you don't have a good taste. i had seen different style from popping elswhere salah pac man kid & slim boogiuie hoan hip hop dancer les twins waydi blue print skitzo boubou rochka and many more like nonstope fikshun etc no one reached the level of these two j-black performances

+Oth Ben Here. i will give you a critical analysis of your argument with examples, valid pro hominem aspects of dance study, and further reasoning as to why you are simply opinionated VS. constructive in your judgement. everything that i recite and elaborate upon are both facts and historical aspects of moden hip hop dance and J-BLACK's inferiority to countless dancers, giving you a total overview as to why he is not as good as you claim. I am a somewhat experienced battle, competition, and performance judge and have indeed witnessed, both through film and in real life, countless forms of dance. i will wholeheartedly tell you all of this in mind that you are a viewer who has expressed his opinion because you obviously chose to ignore all of the important qualities of my constructive criticism ("men i don't care about diverse or choreo or or or or or") and proceeded to ask me to give you a dancer who has surpassed him -- yet you continuing not to to care about "diverse or choreo or or or or" in the first place makes you nothing but subjectively biased... but this time, i will be more particular, specific, and evident with my reasoning as well as context, so that spectators of this discussion can see the flaw in both your reasoning and your conclusion which you have argued against me. les twins and fik shun easily surpass this man. you should also know since you mentioned Les Twins they are self-taught and have *J-BLACK has borrowed an ABUNDANT AMOUNT OF MOVES from Les Twins in his performances, adding onto his weakness. Les Twins incubated more than half of the moves J-BLACK demonstrates...* dead drop, as mentioned, is one of the moves J-BLACK integrated from Les Twins. The ankle twist, J-BLACK's most used move in his history of dance performances and showcases, is also a move integrated from Les Twins. moreover, his isolation is his only strength and fik shun surpasses him completely. don't know what you're saying, this isn't even close to any of Fik Shun's or Les Twins' performances. nice try, but you're completely off. he also took some of Waydi's isolation gestures and Boubou's pop and lock mechanism for the vertical chop stick form. that covers, hmm, maybe 5/6 of his diversity which you have ignored?? probably because you are somewhat inexperienced as a viewer vs. judge... btw, your argument fell as soon as you said you don't care about diverse or choreo and whatnot. that means you're basing this off of personal taste, which is totally valid, but from a critical and objective standpoint, you're unreasonably false. diversity, musicality, choreographical consistency/inconsistency and redundancy are all things you should not ignore as a judge... when you ignore them, it's all based on your opinion, so OKAY, don't care about them, you're literally just killing your own point. Oh, and you wanted evidence to shut you up? i will shut you up right now, all of these surpass J-BLACK's performances from a critical perspective in any context (you may refer to any other experienced judge to compare J-BLACK's performances to these if you wish to go that far). You may pay attention to only one of Les Twins to make it a 'single dancer' and it will still stay the same : *Les Twins 2010 WOD performance, Les Twins | World Hip Hop Dance Finals 2013 | **#SXSTV**, LES TWINS - France | Performance @ HHI's 2012 World Hip Hop Dance Championship, Les Twins Juste Debout 2008, Les Twins Battle of The Stylez - All Matches, Fik Shun FRONTROW WODLA '14, KOD 2016 Korea VS France (Criminalz Crew), Les Twins WOD '13, Les Twins Performance | Red Bull BC One World Final 2015, Les Twins WODLA FRONTROW 2016, Les twins - démonstration de danse @ Roland-Garros 2016, Les Twins x Fik-Shun CLOSEUP WOD LA 2016*, etc... there are many more performances which surpass J-BLACK's level completely that aren't even choreography.. which is J-BLACK's strength. btw, "Judge Show J-BLACK | Daejeon, South Korea | 2014 & 2015 Underground Session Vol.5" are judge shows and completely choreographed as showcases. note that more than half of what i said is actually freestyle and they still surpass that performance. If you look at J-BLACK freestyling, he's too abstract in movement and he CANNOT adapt to the music, lacking total musicality, fluidity, and diversity (things i must reiterate, you have decided to ignore for the sake of your expression of opinion which is ad hominem and irrelevant). you're also using one performance as a go-to whereas i am critically analyzing the dancer and the performance, NOT just the performance. these two performances are nothing special and stay nothing special, but they are his best... however, all good dancers have a best performance, and they kill this in less than 3 moves. what defines a dancer are his WORST performances, which you have also ignored. go search for one of his best freestyle videos. J-BLACK is average amongst western performers.... Also, the videos 'Judge Show J-BLACK | Daejeon, South Korea | 2014 & 2015 Underground Session Vol.5' are a perfect demonstration of his choreography which has innovated countless moves from Les Twins and other world famous dancers. and half the time, he is doing spaz-krump which is weak and uncreative (constant spazzing of bones which sync to the music... however he does this too much and too constantly for it to be suitable). When he falls flat on his stomach straight to the floor, it is obvious he has taken this from abstract krump. Ankle twist move, Les Twins signature. basic popping and locking, worldwide. etc... too many performances blow J-BLACK out of the water from Les Twins, Boubou, Waydi, Fik Shun, and others. go show J-BLACK's underground judge show performance to a WODLA judge claiming it's the best they'll see and they'll laugh in your face... even i, and I have only been a judge of minor official competitions and battles can tell you i've seen better in real life. i can tell you're not a real judge but "Judge Show J-BLACK | Daejeon, South Korea | 2014 & 2015 Underground Session Vol.5" aren't anything special and anyone who has watched over 10 dance performances of all genres can tell that. try again. everyone have far better arsenals of amazing performances which J-BLACK cannot compare to. there is a reason why J-BLACK doesn't come far in freestyle battles or competitions... here's one of his freestyle videos: "J-BLACK(CUBE SOUND) VS OHBODY(CUBE SOUND) 2013 DANCE@LIVE KOREA HIPHOP SIDE VOL.2". for reference, this freestyle is completely obliterated in comparison to any Les Twins Fusion Concept match (refer to Les Twins FINAL Fusion Concept Match VS Waydi & Rockha). nice try, but try again... "no one reached the level of these performances" in your scope of subjective taste, however as a somewhat experienced competition judge and enthusiast, you just look like a guy who's into abstract krumping and polyrhythmic movements, ignoring the technicality and in-depth analytical prevalent qualities that people who study dance can actually see. you're subjectively right, only because subjectivity is based on opinion, but you're critically weak and the moment you chose to ignore the qualities i have mentioned you obviously are just biased towards seeing these two performances which you believe are amazing. it's like saying bboys are better than hip hop dancers because they show more movement and acrobatic skill. you completely ignore all the other aspects of dance that put them on different levels as dancers in totality overall rather than through different styles separately. if that isn't enough, this is enough to tell you that he isn't that great. if you mute both videos of Judge Show J-BLACK | Daejeon, South Korea | 2014 & 2015 Underground Session Vol.4 & 5 and play them one after another they are almost the exact same. ground stomach tumble, ankle twists with protruding arm rotation, etc..., and they are not meant to be renditions of each other but completely different shows completely. yet, they are not different at all. and they have a whole time gap of a year between each other. so in that span of one year, he has not evolved from the demonstration of those two shows... my point has been proven. i have stated the reasons and this is obvious evidence from the two videos you have given me yourself. also, all of J-BLACK's performances are under the length of 3 minutes and are to one song... the song never changes. this demonstrates lack of material to be further shown and his showcases are limited even in choreographical content to exceed that time limit as well as musicality in adaptation. If you're going to use those two performances as reference, you should put into consideration that countless dancers such as Les Twins, Fik Shun, Waydi, Boubou, Rockha, Killason, etc.. have all exceeded time limits of 6 minutes (Les Twins longest performance is over 10 minutes) and have had their performances include multiple songs in different genres. 'nuff said. please put into consideration the fact that you are offering nothing but your opinion on a constructive criticism as you base your reasoning on not caring about all of the aspects of dance which define dance itself. you just sound somewhat ignorant.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) well first of all you mentioned the diversety and both fik shun and les twins they have the same movement and they used them in different way and that's not a problem ou a bad things because we can call it signature movement and you create your own style.you told me about musicality this guy is the most of the dancers i listed above besaid waydi that have more musicality in his dance, third thing his movements are weird and that add to his show the beauty plus in his movements he's impredictable, about the dead down i real don't care for example's that dead down salah who created it up und down then we can say that les twins took it from him but men we can't take from them the fact that they used it and effectively. but me i realy don't care about hard movements, as a "spectator" the more important thing for me is the musicality and thet them you follow with the music so in your dancing you follow the story and that's no one surpaced j-black on that like i said i watched pop laucking and hip hop longs time agi since "elswhere" if you know him. men no one trancelated to me a song like j-black did in this two show i don't know if you watched them or not but i suggest you to watch.kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZyyoaBnqNmHabM and kzbin.info/www/bejne/ip6skpeAoZVooZY. his speed is phenomenal
@edmtutos2512
@edmtutos2512 8 жыл бұрын
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) and i forgot about the flow and changing the pace and rythm come on men i think he changed it 3 or 4 time in single performance knowing that his shows don't surpasse 2 min and the vibration what can i say about his vibration and slow motion. the things that you can't se on his performance is the coordination of his movements from head to his feet. i mean for example in "judge show faejeon south korea 2015". in the begenin from 0:40 to 1:00 the way he moves is unhumain and if you read the comments some one said that the video is speed up. because he couldn't believe that the man could moves like that. i mean if you insist on technique then you will never enjoy a single performance don't get me wrong thet technic is imortant but not as musicality we are humain and to hear a good beat the drummer for example don't hit a perfect hits every times sometimes he use less energy sometimes of beat with some kind of swings so that humanisation give us a beautyful performance. and that's we can employ it also in dancing you don't have to be perfect to show a perfect performance. for example hoan a korean popping dancer if you watch his technique maybe is not the best comparing to guys like slim-booguie or kite etc but when you watch them men hoan catch you because of his musicality creativity and the fact that he is impredictable. i know you will not understand me because guys like you give more importance to statistics and "the movement shouldn't be like that it shoult be like that" while the movement is perfect whitout been technicaly perfect. for example Cristiano Ronaldo is on the top of spanish league in terms of assists while if you watch his matches his assists were simple nothing special and in the end because of his celebrity everybody say wow he is one of the best player in terms of assists while he is not but a guy like ozile or modric or silva are way way better in assists but we will not speak about them because they are less famous. sorry for my bad english i hope at least you can understand what i'm saying

+Oth Ben *Read my whole comment that i already posted. You mentioned a lot of the things I already addressed and it seems you missed all of those. I already referred to your two performances which you linked me too and gave you names of some you should watch yourself in bold because you're so fixated on J-BLACK's judge shows... I will reiterate some of it in this comment, so you can read this whole comment as well.* as a competition judge i will tell you all of this once more. also, me focusing on technique and technicality does not equate to never being able to be impressed. J-BLACK is objectively weaker than others as a dancer and if you actually study dance or become a qualified judge, you would see why. perhaps seek education on the matter before delving into a debate such as this one where all you have are ad hominem explanations of how J-BLACK has personally connected to you. that's fine, but in this case, you're not giving a valid argument by saying that. all you're saying is "I have never been more impressed with another performance than J-BLACK's" and no one really cares because you're not giving me ANY facts. speed does not define quality, his movements are jagged and abstract. if you want, les twins or fik shun could easily pull off something such as that, even faster. all of his performances revolve around this common spasm move. same with waydi or other dancers. i watched both performances and referred to them in my comment which you did not fully read i presume. his moves are extremely predictable. here's the difference: if you play 2 different Les Twins performances in a row, they will not look the same. If you play 2 J-BLACK performances, the ones that you are referring to even in a row, they are almost the exact same. for example, Les Twins 2010 WOD and Les Twins 2013 WOD. their evolution is remarkable. also, your argument revolves around the fact that you do not see "technical" or "statistical" dance study as 'important'... you're just basing all of this off of opinion. also, dead drop was not created by salah but incubated in 2007 by Les Twins and Salah simultaneously. the specific dead drop that you see J-BLACK doing is definitely integrated from Les Twins and not Salah. you haven't really countered any of my arguments, you are simply arguing why J-BLACK is sufficient by my judgement and unfortunately that does not work. i have been an actual judge and i have given a constructive criticism, however you have stated two dance performances which i do not find too impressive, so i do not know where you're going with this. your analogy with Cristiano Ronaldo does not apply here because this is not soccer... in addition, no movement is perfect with dance, however J-BLACK is not adaptive to whatever he is dancing to. He is too consistent with his movement and does not change style except for when he switches to his alter-ego J-PINK which could be two separate dancers entirely by definition. moreover, you are simply stating i am judging J-BLACK by the technicality and more objective qualities of music. why is that ,you ask? because i am an actual judge... you however are stating that abstract movements which are imperfect should be appreciated or should be seen as beautiful, however if you are trying to argue that makes them better, you're completely wrong. J-BLACK's judge shows are not too impressive and he does nothing special. his movements are just so abstract that you think it is 'inhumane' as you said but it just looks flashy, if you're an actual judge at a competition it would turn out differently as i am. also, as i said, those two performances are choreographed and not freestyle and contain only one song under the time limit of 3 minutes... yet he repeats too many moves for such a limited arsenal of dancing. you also keep saying "i don't care" about some of the most important parts of dance. enough of that shit. if you really don't care, your argument is invalid... you're literally just backing an opinion. as a previous judge i am offended because it seems you are not very knowledgable about how judging performances actually works or how to analyze choreographies and rank the dancer himself. you are simply saying "i believe his performances are more beautiful" -- sure, your opinion is completely valid in saying you think J-BLACK is the best dancer, but in reality, if you bring it to 10 judges, 10/10 will tell you he is below many other dancers and he is NOT unsurpassable. show them those two performances and they will not call it 'phenomenal' or 'inhumane'. I've seen J-BLACK's movements before, those are called isolated spasms and are supposed to contain speed, but it seems you like that sort of style. fine with me, but don't try to debate that it makes him better because it's 'fast' or looks 'inhumane'... your argument has literally no foundation other than "Well in my opinion you should not look at the technical side but the humane side" well what the fuck is a judge supposed to do?? go ahead and like the performance, i don't give a shit, but you're trying to debate against my constructive criticism when you haven't given any real and hard argument AT ALL... also, 'guys like me' aren't just viewers who go along with flashy moves. we look behind the curtain and analyze in consideration of the dancer's ability and arsenal of creativity. that is what it means to be a qualified competition judge as i have been. all your arguments are saying "well just because this this this doesn't mean it can't be beautiful" but really this is about first the qualities of a dancer, not your opinion on how beautiful you think their performances are. i'm going to finish this by saying that since you are so pressed on this, for a conclusion, you should go ask an official World of Dance judge to watch J-BLACK's two judge performances and ask them if they surpass Les Twins or Fik Shun. Then go ask another. Then another. no one cares about your opinion if all you can say is that you find his speed remarkable or cool or that he speaks to you in a different way... that's called SUBJECTIVE OPINION. i constructively criticized this performance however you have given nothing but feedback upon what you think about it in mind that you think his movements are 'cool', 'beautiful', and 'unique'. read my entire comments please. i cannot repeat this again. if you're not good in english and do not understand more than half of what i am saying unfortunately you can't really debate against me because you really can't get my message...
