Same idea in Nocturnal Dance Company in terms of choosing the ethnic sounds in which the crew got 2nd place during the WOD preliminaries in the Philippines. What about Desi Hoppers? They never competed in any WOD competition ever so how did they even get invited to be a part of the finals?

The style of choreography is very refreshing. It seems very pure, honest hip-hop, and I love it!. Through their performance, they didn't try to convey sex appeal or badass-ness. They genuinely looked like they were having fun and the epitome of this is represented in the "Old McDonald" scene. Hip hop really does not need to "be so serious". Oh and I loved how the spelled out 'WOD'. It makes their performance unique as if the choreography is actually in dialogue with the World of Dance audience rather than being a commodity (recycled choreography for profit).

Amber Gonzalez According to WOD rules 5 members per team is necessary...so after meeting the minimum requirement, it completely is the prerogative of the team's to decide on the maximum number of dancers they want to have in the team. Btw team co-ordination has got nothing to do with the number of dancers on stage. A team with 4 dancers can have terrible co-ordination if not rehearsed properly.

I was Bollywood lover since childhood from their neighbouring country NEPAL. And I loved Indian Dance reality show the most than others shows. But I haven't touched with that now. I'm far from my home having my own phone. So that excitement n enjoyable days like back then while watching TV isn't happen now while watching on KZbin. Exactly !! this is what makes me feel really sad. It's like Jo dikhta hai wahi bikta hai Even tho Kings United were the first to score 3rd position in HHI *BUT Desi Hoppers is the first Indian dance team to ever possess 1st position in The WOD ( that too is an independent dance competition unlike NBC WOD ) in the entire world representing India. None gave much exposure and support to them. Watching them in still a struggling phase beats the core of my heart. The Kings got a movie based upon them for being 3rd in a competition Desi Hoppers holds 1st position ( the very first Indian team to be 1st in International dance competition ever)... People : I'm sorry who are they ? They Kings...Oh they will get one more movies based upon them now Their choreographer is looking forward to get into Bollywood and getting approached to be a judge on TV shows now, commercialises the hell out of his dance academy as well. So if Desi Hoppers can't get more exposure, respect and appreciation then they still deserves the equivalent to the Kings at least. Thanks for pointing this out, at least someone i found concerned about it. Otherwise my trust from our citizens for facts like this doesn't scale much.

Yes I know this all is just word of mouth rumors. I am happy that my neighbors doing great in dancing internationally :) Previously Kings United took 3rd place in HipHop International and then this. Keep us inspiring India (y) :)

^_^ This is probably one of the sweetest things to hear!! And yes proud of Kings United too. They were also AMAZING!! Actually the fact is that these people r unable to stand the fact that countries like us which is regarded as 3rd world countries ,went up n won over them. But this implies only to a few of them, ofcourse.

Definitely, and I am happy because doors are opening for India and it will have positive impact on Pakistan too as a competitor. Cheers :)

the music was a true reflection of India. .. hindi music punjabi beats mantras Bollywood masti... all in one... unity is beauty... it's been a strength always...Dance is speechless.. indian dances are more beautiful and difficult to learn then hip hop... no doubt they won... this land is a spring of art...

I've seen a lot of things on the internet, heck, i've spent way too much time here even! But this, i can't describe how captivated i was while watching this, this is the kind of positive vibe i always wanted to give to people. It's incredible, if only i could have even a tiny bit of the passion and positivity these guys demonstrated. (The following stuff is about my struggles in life, i write this for myself so that maybe i can use this comment as reference in the future, or to reflect) But, i know myself very well, i'm the kind of person who says they want to change but never do anything to achive that change, i'm spending my days looking for a perspective, a reason to be, if you will. I don't know what i want from life, my folks expect me to follow the rules and live accordingly, but i never cared for any of that. I'm scared to put time and effort into something, that fear is what keeps me from going a certain direction, plus, i'm not the smartest guy, mostly concerning maths and physics, which are the most important subjects for a lot of jobs. Learning and eventually overcoming weaknesses is what school's about, but due to my stubbornness and laziness, i struggle and fail without having learnt much. I guess it all comes down to *motivation,* i have no clear goal, there're things that interest me of course, but i'm not motivated enough to learn any of those things, maybe the right term is "apathy"... i have no idea. If anyone's still reading, first of all, thank you. Second of all, i'm not done yet >:) Since you've read this far, i guess i'll also mention that when i was little, about 7 i believe, i had an epyleptic seizure, that complicated a lot of things, because i also have aspergers AND adhd. I was always a problematic child, but those around me always thought that since i was a natural at most subjects, i wouldn't need to study. To be true, there are subjects like english, music, crafts, geometry (because i have high spatial imagination according to my old teachers etc) i'm still really good at, but on the most important subjects i'm just not good at, at all. About 3rd or 4th grade up to 7th grade was my most problematic phase, i imagine i was comparable to a feral animal with zoomies, i guess. It's hard to describe what went on in my head, so i'm just going to leave that up to your imagination. Eventually though, a feeling started to overcome me, it must've started when i was around 15 or 16: *Depression* Back then, there was a shift in my mind, clarity, i guess. I understood that i've wasted a lot of time, and the realisation of how this will affect my life made me go into a downward spiral. Since i knew of my disabilities, i knew that i'd have a hard road ahead of me, and that thought kept coming up... There were also thoughts like "how do i grow" or "i don't know how to overcome this, what if i do something wrong" and also these: "what do i do, i've never studied for long, i don't know how this works" "what do i do now". An unimaginable amount of more thoughts like those and others were going around in my mind, and they still do. I can't concentrate on the things that matter, and i'm not disciplined enough to stay focused for long, like someone who wants to learn to play the guitar but isn't willing to put in the time and effort. Understanding one's self while still not being able to change is something i hope noone else has to go through. If anyone read all of that, i commend you, kudos! and again, thank you. I just gotta say, if you read all of this, you're already a better listener than most people i know. Not even my family has the attention span to listen to my troubles for so long, and for that, again, i thank you

and thank God .... this group of dancers atleast made sure that it's a dance performance and not a CIRCUS performance .... dance is all about fun expressions and synchronisation ..... others do more of acrobatics and some circus performance ... Well Done Desi Hoppers ....Proud of you

The Bollywood dance style is a beautiful blend of all Indian dance styles be it classical Indian dance, folk Indian dance or the more current R&B, hip hop music. Some people love Bollywood dances because there are no defined rules like classical dance styles. Some people love Bollywood because it exposes them to Indian culture. Others enjoy the vibrant music and colorful outfits. Whatever the reason, Bollywood dancing is a small glimpse into Indian culture that everyone should experience!

I imagine they won because of their uniqueness and synchronicity. They were definitely more synchronized than many of the other groups which was probably a huge factor for the judges this year? As for them not meeting certain criterias for this competition , they must been exempt for some reason because the competition committee would have never aloud them in? Personally i think they are all winners because after watching some of the other performances the talent their was off the charts!

Well since it's called WORLD of dance, it's good that the first place is something new, which incorporates culture and modern art together. Atleast everyone knows that it's not all about the normal genre we see from every dancer that competes and the rest of the world can learn other cultures through this art.

axel blaze Songs were from Bollywood but dance forms were mostly from Indian classical dances and folk dances. And Bollywood is also inspired by Indian culture. most songs, their lyrics, their tunes are part of Indian culture. Every year Bollywood incorporates many cultural elements in their work. This is how they come up with these new fusion type and amazing dance and songs.

What an amazing performance. loved the transition. Starting with a prayer, then taking blessing from the stage, going to the classical part showing the Indian culture and then western take while saluting the 'WOD' by spelling it out. Even the music piece was a fabulous way of showcashing the true Indian in you people. Traditional yet going head on with the mordern world (Y) M-I-N-D-B-L-O-W-I-N-G!!!!
