@SOJRen No, it's correct. No one actually said that Miguel was a freshman in Season 1, nor were the other students. Miguel just moved in and changed school in Season 1. Silver's limo had a 2019 registration sticker and the second All Valley ends in May 2019 because Seasons 4, 5 and 6 take place in 2019. That's why Miguel and the others are supposed to go to college in 2020. Also, the creators said a few years ago that they want to end the story before 2020 in the timeline.

I think the brawl and Kwon's death at Sakai Taikai is going to really fuck up Daniel emotionally and that the three year time jump for the movie is going to show the psychological/emotional toll those events have taken on Daniel and the fallout he's suffered from it. I think the movie will show him learning to rediscover karate's joys by mentoring a student that's somewhat similar to him, helping him learn some truths he lost along the way (as shown in Cobra Kai). He may even appreciate in a new light what Mr Miyagi tried teaching him.

​@@bigheadrhino My theory is this: We know that Miyagi is descended from Shimpo Miyagi, who passed out on his boat off the coast of Okinawa while fishing and drinking sake. he returned to Okinawa ten years later with his Chinese wife, two children, and the secret Myiagi-Do Karate: The Drum Technique. Historically, karate as we know of was came to be when Chinese traders visited Okinawa and taught local martial artists of "te" kung fu, and they combined it with their own martial arts and adapted and developed what we today think of as karate. My theory is that Shimpo Myiagi learned from kung fu from an ancestor of Mr. Han, and that the Myiagi-Do family karate has its origins in the Han family kung fu, and that there might be this multi-generational friendship between the two families who has, over subsequent generations, stayed in touch and been visited one another, and that Mr. Myiagi and Mr. Han might know (or know of) one another for this reason.

My theory is that Master Serrano who Daniel was looking in Barcelona who knows Mr. Miyagi is Mr. Han. Mr. Han used a different name when he joined Sekai Taikai just like Mr. Miyagi changed his name when he went to America and used Keisuki instead of Nariyoshi. Mr. Han was watching the Sekai Taikai at the All Valley Sports Centre and saw and knew the Miyagi-Do technique so he approached him. That above is just a background story but in the end of Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 3, there will be a cameo of Mr. Han approaching Daniel, telling him that he knew the technique and asking who his sensei is. After knowing, he will nod and walks away. That's the reason why three years later, Mr. Han wants to pull Daniel out of retirement because he trust that Daniel can teach better Miyagi-Do technique for his student.

Cobra Kai even started because of Johnny Lawrence seeing Daniel LaRusso for the first time in 34 years and carrying the PTSD from his loss. Johnny Lawrence restarted Cobra Kai because of his deep down hatred he had for daniel, Daniel started up Miyagi-do, bringing back John Kreese and Terry Silver. If they would just let the sleeping dogs lie.We would not have gotten death kn the Miyagi verse. Which is also ironic because miagi accidentally killed someone at the Sekai Taikai

Season 6 and the Sekai Taikai... If you look at Daniel's phone, takes place in April 2020, doesn't look like they will be doing any kind of time skip. So Legends should be taking place in 2023, Sam would either working at Larusso Auto and/or going to college. Anthony is in his senior year of high school, and I assume is still doing karate.

An unpopular opinion is that im happy it's ending on sort of a high note to finally give Johnny back Cobra Kai, and he wins in the end since it's about him. Im glad its ending because i think they've exhausted the Daniel and Johnny witty banter and the Chosen funny lines. They should've livened it up more with Julie Pierce instead of having Sensei Kim turn soft, to give Julie a formidable opponent. I do believe production tried to make it happen and Swank wasn't available for most of the show, but it wouldve been a good few episodes of her too. Im ready for it to end, though i will miss them ultimately, despite the rehashed stories.

The timeline is easy, don't need to think about COVID or strikes just look at the characters, theyre in high school and I doubt someone could take 6-7 years to get through high school and get into MIT. Even the original movies took place over a 1-1.5 yr span, the first one with the tournament to the 3rd one with the next all valley tournament. I’m still not convinced by this new film. Just feels like a cheap studio cash in off the back of the success of Cobra Kai. Classic film studio dick move Had the big 3 of Jon , Josh and Hayden been the ones behind this film I would of been all over it and excited. The love, care and feel they brought to the series felt like watching the original films The biggest kicker is including the god awful reboot as being cannon in the miyagiverse I just can’t get on board with this one bit Hopefully I’m proven wrong and it’s a good solid entry into the franchise but at the minute not interested in the slightest

I feel like it’s doesn’t make sense that their making karate kid legends film and Daniel Larusso is in the film it doesn’t make sense because he has a wife and he has his son Anthony going to high school it doesn’t make sense that he leaves the valley to go to the East Coast now if him and his wife and his son move to the east coast with him it will make sense but there not going to be in the film no one form the Cobra Kai series is in this film only Daniel

I think the Legends movie is the wrong direction for the brand.... It's bad enough how overdone Kenny's character is...most likely the end of Cobra Kai ...will be of the karate kid for me....a great series...failing at the end..
