Among 20 to 25 videos I saw in KZbin about painting, you are the only one that explained it really well and just now I could understand how landscape painting works. Thank u so much bro :)

Thank you so much!!! This is hands-down the *BEST* explanation on how to paint Landscape layers in Unreal Engine and how the different Blend Modes react with Edit Layers!

This layer has no layer info assigned yet. You must create or assign a layer info before you can paint this layer.

Can I just use an auto-material on the base layer with specific rules like angles etc and it would work with the other layers?

Great tutorial. I am having trouble painting an opacity mapped texture over my base landscape texture, specifically how to paint a texture that looks like scattered leaves on the ground (with alpha transparency) over grass. Any ideas?

That's awesome, thank you. I just have a problem when trying to paint a non-weight blended layer over another non-weight blended layer using different edit layers, the new one cannot be seen. :( Any tips? :)

If you already are using a Landscape, you need to enable the Layersoption. Watch his Part 1 Video. Its short.

For me the landscape stays black. Even after assigning it to a layer. It only shows up if I have no normal textures hooked up. And my normal textures show up in the target layers panel.
@WorldofLevelDesign4 жыл бұрын
That is odd. You might have something wrong with your landscape material. Can't say for sure without seeing it.

@dm.b75604 жыл бұрын
I added, scale, tiling and tessalation ampunt & strenght to this system, the show, they can be modified but they dont alter the textures in the layers, so basically layers are stuck, with they look like ugly UV repetitive issue, that can't be fixed in this way.... sad
@TheDeveer4 жыл бұрын
You can just use Landscape Coord Node and increase the size there to increase tiling.

Thanks for the tutorial. Is there way for "directional" painting? i have a road with tracks but they go just in 1 way. Is there a way to change the direction of the painted road or do i need to use splines? Thanks!
