Thanks so much! I was really curious what the SE looked like. This is nowhere near as charming or visually interesting as the original (imextreeeemelyveryho), though I love Elaine's and Guybrush's voices from Tales. (Armato's voice isn't as good in Curse oMI). Melee Island's harbor and Scumm Bar look fantastic, and are my favorite bits. Otherwise, I'd rather play the original. Good to have checked it out though!

I don't know. I originally played it on the Amiga and it had the Lemonhead joke. It's also in the original VGA version. Check this walkthrough; watch?v=ySmLlHTV5rU Or search cubex55's videos for "PC Longplay [032] The Secret of Monkey Island" and then skip ahead to 2:56:40.

They cut out some of the dialog! At 16:30 when they show the idol to Lemonhead, he's supposed to say "Simple. Like one of mine. And little, like mine. And it says "Made by Lemonhead" like one of mine!" Without the rest, the joke falls a little flat.

That's weird, my game never said that! I have the Windows CD version, though, so maybe they cut it out when they transferred it from floppy disk?

Yup ... original version all the way for me as well. Especially due to the way they portray LeChuck on the ghost ship.

Ending seems a bit rushed as well. Not sure atm, but didn´t you see more in the original when he punches you? And ofc. the fact that Elaine´s eyes move, but not their mouths when talking in the final screen - it fits with a non talking version, but (imo) not with.

@PyramidHead2000 It depends whether or not you sink you ship by accident on top of the cliff. In escape to monkey island Carla and Otis remind of you doing that, but if you didn't and they give you a ride back to Melee that would lead to a plot paradox wouldn't it?

You don't see the bit of him at the end if you do that. Then again, you do see the plot-hole-filler with him in the caves if you do.

the look back at the game is awesome, i just wished i could play it with voices, i can't stand reading as it doesn't give enough personality for me.

One of the most disappointing remakes I've ever seen. Even if it's based on an indipendent work, I expected a much better work from LA Studios. What a wasted occasion.
